I have no proof per say, but I have sold a few and I run a over clocked version of the 8600gt and my son has been using one on a gaming machine for over 8 months now. No problems at all (Other than not playing CRYSIS but we have wanted to)

cnumartyr I personally didn't "bash" people who looked a benchmarks. Simple pointed out to the people who stated us people who don't care about bench marks are not enthusiasts. Computer enthusiasts like any other enthusiast come in many forms and all should be respected. :)

I agree with earlier posts, it's overheating. It's summer over hear in Aussie and even in a house with room temps between 26 to 30c my X2 6000 + idles between 32c to 36c.

I have floppy drives in all my systems, as a computer tech I still have customers or friends that sometimes need access to floppy's. Having said that I have sold stacks of computers in the last 2 years and only 2 (customer orders) that have had floppy's in them. In most cases nobody needs them...

On all the cards I've used and fitted in recent times the fan is ran of a plug on the Video cards PCB.
