Really high temps on new CPU

Thanks for all the replies, but the simple truth was that I DID forget the plastic cover on my watercooling block *smacks head*. Next time I'm not getting high before building a computer!

Hi guys, here are my specs: i5 4690K Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H 8x2 Kingston HyperX Beast 2400Mhz Asus GTX 980 Lepa AquaCharger 120 cooler Windows 10 Pro I've used both "Core Temp" and "Real Temp" and it seems that even on idle my CPU is sitting around 45-60 degrees and when I do a simple WPrime test...

    Am I CPU Bottlenecking?

I'll do the test a little later when I have time, but if I do end up needing to upgrade, considering all I do on this pc is game, what would be my best price/performance CPU? Also if I can keep my DDR3 that would save money and be nice

    Am I CPU Bottlenecking?

I'm running an i7 970 on an X58 Asus P6T Deluxe, overclocked to 3.8Ghz and memory is at 1600Mhz. I have a GTX 980 and even though I feel like I shouldn't be bottlenecking I've noticed that in games like Diablo 3, Grim Dawn and similar games, whenever there are lots of characters on-screen the...

Cheap SoC with built in RAID controller

Hi everyone, as the title suggests I'm looking to build a system using an inexpensive SoC motherboard that supports RAID since I'll be putting two drives in RAID 1. I was looking at these but I'm not sure if any of them support RAID out of the box: Asus...

    Will this combination work?

I have 16GB of Kingston DDR3 Parts# KHX2400C11D3/8GX and want to buy an i5 6600K with an ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Z170 Gaming K4/D3 LGA 1151 Motherboard. I know the board says it supports DDR3 but the i5 just says DDR4 and DDR3L. So I wasn't sure if my memory would work. Thanks in advance for any...

Asus P6T Deluxe Win 10 RAID Controller

Hi everyone, as the title suggests I have an Asus P6T Deluxe Socket 1366 and I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro. In device manager I'm only missing the RAID Controller and I can't seem to figure out what the controller is or where to find it's driver. If anyone could help I'd very...

    power supply maybe broken

Without testing the parts individually it's hard to tell. But it sounds like something caused a short and it's entirely possible that both the power supply and the motherboard have been fried in the process. Personally I would replace the power supply as well since it's burnt. The last thing...

    Weird monitor issue

That's an issue with the monitor not the OS. Not something you can fix unfortunately. Considering you found it, maybe that's why someone wasn't using it in the first place :P

    speaker review ...

I have no personal experience with them but I'm sure they sound fantastic, If you're worried about Bass you might want to look into 2.1 speaker systems with dedicated Bass (unless avoiding a 2.1 system is what you're trying to do).

How make SAS HDD make work in Z10PE workstation board

I believe something like this should solve your problem: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812117664&cm_re=sas_to_sata-_-12-117-664-_-Product

Is this a good starcraft league of legends heroes of the storm build?

You should be able to run all those games no problem. In 4K you won't get the fastest FPS but in 1440P you should have no problems.

    Dual channel question

From my experience yes. It's not the memory module that dictates whether it will work in single, dual, triple channel, etc... It's the motherboard. I'm currently running 2x8GB kingston Dual Channel kit on my X58 triple channel motherboard and have zero issues.

    RAM Gaming requirements

"glamdringfh" is right. I don't know if it's because RAM has gotten cheaper or because game's are just poorly optimized on PC's nowadays, but more and more games require A LOT of RAM to run. The new Black Ops 3 is apparently not satisfied unless you have 12GB of RAM!!
