£300 budget, need cpu,mobo and hdd pref with a view to o/clock.

Any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. my brother does not want to wait for DDR.

I would go with a duron 600, msi k7t pro 2a, and about a 10g hdd check these out may fit in budget (dont know for sure deal in us dollar).

There are 1.47 dollars to the pound. Is a T-Bird as good to o/clock and is the board able to o/clock FSB, multiplier and voltage?

The Tbird is good to overclock but the duron seems better and cheaper. The board that i mentioned has good overclocking features and is also fairly inexspensive.

Get a Duron, cheaper and they overclock well. Look for a Duron 600-700mhz, get an Abit KT7, and a 20-40Gb drive. Most Duron's will oveclock into the 900Mhz-1Ghz range with just a bump in voltage. The Tbirds are slightly faster, but really only noticeable in number crunching programs, so the Duron makes a better choice, even more so if you are on a budget.

I wish that all moneys from other countries were the same, as in same value. Maybe we in the US can go to the Euro! Maybe we can get the US, Canada, Austrailia, Mexico, and the European countries to accept one currency.
