10/100/1000 Gigabit Network Cards

Hi guys,

I did have a 'quick' browse for info on this to save me posting and you guys replying but I'm eager to make improvements so apologies.

Question is 'simply' this:
My Virgin 20Mb broadband is connected to my PC via the integrated Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC on my motherboard, which I believe runs at 10/100 Mbps.
I've noticed now that PCI Ethernet cards are available that run at 1000 Mbps, I'm aware that upgrading to one of those can/will increase the speed of data transfer to other PC's on a network but I'm wondering if it can increase broadband download/upload speeds also or would it have no affect what so ever?
I'm a home PC user with a direct internet connection, I'm not having any internet speed issues that I'm aware off, I merely want to get the best speeds I can from my broadband connection.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and will either save me money or will speed up my net.

you old card10/100 MBbs is more than enough for connecting with broadband 20 MBbs ..
even you get 1000 MBbs Ethernet card it wont show any difference with you broadband
