I have an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO motherboard, intel Core i7 2600K, and a Noctua NH-C14 CPU fan and heatsink.

the Noctua NH-C14 wires are only 3-pin, while the CPU fan connector on the motherboard is 4-pin. What can I do? How can I connect this CPU Fan to the motherboard?

By the way, my motherboard is certified for this CPU Fan, you can see on Noctua's site.

PLEASE HELP

Another thing is that one of my Power supply's wires (ETX12V) lies right on the heatsink of the cpu fan and there's no other way to lay it out.. is this okay?

Thanks

Solution
No problem .. Just plug to cpufan in mobo, fan cpu still under control by bios

So I can connect the 3-pin to the 4-pin and leave the "ground" pin disconnected?

Sorry I was asking the other user. But didn't you type above that your fans are 4-pin and your motherboard's header has has 3-pins?

the only other thing to do than what henydiah said about just using 3 pins in a 4 pin mobo connector, is to buy a fan controller, i bought mine - Sunbeam RHK-BA Rheobus 4 Channel 20W Fan Controller Panel from newegg.com for $10, hook up the controller in a cd rom slot in your case and to power supply and connect as many case fans and cpu fans as you controller will allow

RSL1989 build:
-MSI P67A-G45 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

My motherboard has "ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid " that is 4 pin.

My case fans that's go on the motherboard are 3 pin. What i did was ordered 4 pin for my case -- what i wanted is 3 pin type!

I am sorry for the mistake.
