Currently, I have these two GTX 680 4GB cards as a choice:

MSI N680GTX Lightning GeForce GTX 680 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Video Card

EVGA 04G-P4-2686-KR GeForce GTX 680 w/ Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

I'm sure either one, same price, would be fine for what I want to do (3D content-creation), but are there any suggestions from anyone?. The only obvious difference I see is the MSI one has the two fans, the nVidia one fan. Both have the 4GB which is very helpful (as opposed to the 2GB ones) for 3D painting. I wouldn't be overclocking, btw. The basic question I guess is "MSI vs EVGA" for this particular chip/card, for my 3D needs, if anyone knows.

Solution
the MSI card has significantly better build quality and cooling. the lightning models are legendary

functionality wise, the two cards are the same without overclocking, but why not overclock a card as long as it stays cool? hey, it'll render your stuff faster too

Just realized the MSI card in my first post is 2GB, not 4GB! The specs at newegg don't post the VRAM. It's the same $$ as the EVGA though. Hmmmm.
