Ok...so here are some Vantage benches...

And this is overcloked cpu to 3.9Ghz, ram to 1600Mhz, and graphics to 830Mhz - gpu 1225 - ram....

This is actually the highest score I got in Vantage for now...keep in mind ati cards don't have physx so the score is lower than most nvidia builds...If you want accurate comparisons between the 4850 and some nvidia card disable the physx...
Anyway, I got an XFX 4850 to test against my Sapphire...I'm guessing it's gonna score more...I'll keep you guys posted...

For those who don't remember my system:
CPU - phenom II X4 B50
RAM - GSkill 10666 1333Mhz 8 8 8 24 1.65V 4GB (2 x 2GB)
Motherboard - Gygabyte GA MA770T UD3P
Graphics Card - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850
Hard Dives - Seagate 1TB 32mb cache, WD 1TB 32mb cache
----------------------------------------------------------
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master V8
Case - Antec 900 Two
Power Supply - Tunique 650W
A typical DVD burner...lol

Work...gonna go home soon...in 40-50 minutes...
I ordered some parts off of newegg...they should arrive today, Im building a computer for a client...I'm gonna bench and overclock that thing too...so I just can't wait...

Sorry, can't find my SS's so you'll just have to trust me. They aren't awesome enough to lie about, anyhow, heh.

CPU @ 3.6ghz
4870 @ 810/1075

3DMark06 - 16122
Vantage - P9950

I might have to pull my 9600gso out of the HTPC and do a few vantage runs with PhysX enabled, heh.

Yeah - I'm really wanting to see what it can do with a good OC but the thing is idling at 42C with the 4th core and just the 200Mhz. OC and gets in the upper 60's running Prime95 for about 45minutes - wish they had had the OEM chip when I ordered instead of only the boxed version so I would have ordered an aftermarket HS then ! (But for $195 for the CPU and a Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H MOBO I can't complain too much - plus if I ordered that way I might not have gotten a good 4th core - I think they were disabling good 4th core to raise the stock levels for the Xmas shopping season ) and with the thermal shutdown temp at 73 for these CPU's I don't want to push it to far befor e the new Heatsink\cooler get here (was ordered 2 days ago so should be here soon !) - The GPU runs really cool also so I'm pretty sure there should be some room for improvement on it as well. Will post the results next week when everything gets tested. (must say though for a $500 upgrade from my old socket 754 Athlon 3200+ with an AGP 7800GS GPU it is a major improvement from the 1362 3dmarks in 3dmark06 that system scored !! 😱 )

@JofaMang,
Thanks for your scores... I believe you...don't worry...
But now I can see that with a little volt mod I pulled out
a 4870 performance out of my 4850!
This makes me happy... :)

And OvrClkr, thanks for your benching scores! 😉
Now I can see that my 4850 is not that bad of
a card and is just a bit behind yours!

It's pretty good for a single card...
The newest 5850s and 5870s are doing
better in 3D performance but they're way more expensive cards
And people with crossfire or sli are always doing better than
single cards, but for single cards these scores are pretty good at this time...
I don't know about in the near future of a few years but...lol...you get the point... 😉
