3GHz??

HI,
I plan to overclock an AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black on my Asus M3A78-T Could i make 3GHz on this board?

Yes, AFAIK it can be pushed up to 3.2 Ghz with only the stock cooler, right on AMD's OverDrive software.

I could only get 2.9GHz out of a friends 9850 BE on a 790FX, and he had a huge Heatsink. Prime95 got him up past 60*C really fast. And on a personal note, ive never liked "in Windows" overclocking utilities. Also, post a link, i dont wanna have to google your board next time.

What don't you like about overclocking utilities that run on Windows? Lack of control? Potential no-access when you overclock to unstable levels?

I think people don't like it because you have to restart windows every time and it's not as reliable.
