All i can say is a 6 core is better for multitasking doing things like photoshop and such. 4 core is better for gaming since most games only used 2 cores and some very few new ones use 6 cores.

Generally speaking, the more cores, the more power, the more heat is generated.

Many programs do not take advantage of 6 cores; especially games.
