its useful at 1080p and up, for example at 1080p bf3 uses a maximum of 1.3gb, therefore the 2gb is useful, if youre gaming at lower than 1080p then get one 580/570 and dont bother with sli as the extra frames wont be noticeable

OP: Get the MSI 560Ti, veryyy nice card, don't go SLi, it would be a waste of money - your resolution doesn't require anything over a 560Ti (it's actually a bit overkill too). Don't get the 2GB card either, nothing right now uses more than 1GB of VRAM on a single monitor and it will be harder to overclock (if you will want to) it later.

You decide:

Card 5870

COD-MW 121
Bad Company 2 51

Far Cry 2 59

Crysis Warhead 55
Total 460 fps

Card 560 Ti-CU

Source Guru3D
COD-MW 134
Bad Company 2 51
Dirt 2 72
Far Cry 2 88
Metro 2033 26
Dawn of Discovery 73

So your saying that i should get a gtx 570/580 instead? Wouldnt that be a bigger waste of money since im not gaming on full HD 1080P?

The 570 gets 524 fps @ 1920 x 1200 in the Guru3D tests above for $320
The 580 gets 616 fps @ 1920 x 1200 in the Guru3D tests above for $480
Twin 560 (900Mhz) get 862 fps @ 1920 x 1200 in the Guru3D tests above for $410

BTW, the 5870 is out of production, you may have trouble getting another one in the future to CF. The equivalent card to the 560 is the 6950. Here's all the cards compared in the above gaming test suite:

$ 210.00 6950 (479/751) $ 0.44 - $ 0.56
$ 260.00 6950 Frozr OC (484/759) $ 0.54 - $ 0.69
$ 205.00 560 Ti (455/792) $ 0.45 - $ 0.52
$ 360.00 6970 (526/825) $ 0.68 - $ 0.87
$ 205.00 560 Ti - 900 Mhz (495/862) $ 0.41 - $ 0.48
$ 320.00 570 (524/873) $ 0.61 - $ 0.73
$ 480.00 580 (616/953) $ 0.78 - $ 1.01

The factory OC'd Frozr would be the closest competitor to the factor OC'd 900Mhz 560 but it comes up just a tiny short as a single card but frankly the factory OC'd 900Mhz 560 in SLI trounces the factory OC's Frozr in CF "outta the box". The 560 also easily OC's to 1000 MHz whereas the Frozr doesn't have as much headroom. The 560 being available for as little as $205 ('I'd recommend the Asus TOP model at $230 tho), makes it an easy choice IMO over the Frozr at 1920 x 1200. At 2560 x 1600 tho, I'd take the Frozr.

So if i get an MSI twinfrozr II at 820core clock, will it be sufficient for me? will i be able to run high settigns aprox on the upcoming games like bf3 and mw3? Or should i get a msi overclocked + at 900mhz? (the hawk edition)?

Or should i just grab the twin frozr II at 820 and overclock it to 900?

Thanks guys! I apreciate the help!
I just might get a new monitor down the road aswell, so im thinking of going single card now, and later go SLI/Xfire and get a better monitor (1080P)

Looks like im leaning on a twin frozr II at 820 and then OC it to 900, think the card will make it to 900? is the cooling good on the card?
Does the 560ti scale better then 2x 5870?

Thanks mate! Il be getting the Twin Frozr with 880factory OC to the core, il OC it to a 900 with MSI afterburner.
One last question, is the PSU i linked good enough for a 560ti or even a sli / xfire setup in the future?

It's label says its adequate but it's not one I'd choose......if you overclocking (GFX + CPU) , I'd suggest an 850 watter ..... at stock a 750 would suffice.
