5850 x2 Crossfire vs 7970

Will 2 5850 cards be close to a 7970 as far as performance goes.

I'm not sure, but if you plan to use either setup with that Athlon X2 6000+, it might not be the brightest idea ever. The CPU might (probably will) bottleneck the card. I have an Athlon X2 4600+, which is not the same as yours, but when I use it with my 8800GTX 768, it bottlenecks a little.

Most will say a single card is usually the better choice.

Lol those system specs are very old about 4 years old to be exact. I have a 6 core cpu and 16 gigs of ram these days.
