[SOLVED] 650W gold or 700W bronze for my new system?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new prebuilt PC... No other way to get a GPU for a reasonable price these days. It comes with SilentiumPC Vero L3 Bronze, 700W. I also have an older Seasonic SSP 650RT Active PFC F3 which is a 650W Gold. It's been collecting dust for few years, not being used at all. I completely forgot about it until now.

Which one is better in you opinion?

These are my specs:
MSI Z490-A PRO
i7 10700F (cooler SilentiumPC Fera 3 EVO ARGB)
MSI GeForce RTX 3070 VENTUS 3X OC
Kingston HyperX FURY RGB 2x16GB, 3200MHz
PNY SSD CS2130 1TB
Plus 3 regular and 2 RGB fans.

As this is a prebuilt system I would not change anything until the warranty is up. Once the warranty expires the first thing I would do is upgrade that psu.

The Seasonic is better, but how old is it? I'd say don't bother changing it when it's over 7 years old.

It's 4 or 5 years old but it was used for 6 months or so. After that it was just stored in a box. I thought it doesn't "age" if it's not being used.

It will age when exposed to humidity and such, so consider it 5 years old. I don't know how warranty works with prebuilts, I recommend you ask the seller if replacing the PSU will void the warranty.

I wouldn't say the Seasonic is "much better" than the Vero. Especiallly since the Seasonic is older and has been sitting for a long time. Just leave the Vero in there.
