theres only been 4 drivers uptil now for xp for the gf6 series 61.11, 61.12, 61.32, 61.34, all others are fakes, or they were leaked and they weren't approved even for betaing by nV

well, technically you CAN get it , its just stocks are so low that its usually a few weeks that you have to wait (plus prices are super high bceause of the high demand and low stock.. people are paying premiums to get them faster too from what i read)

some people are getting over seas, in Australia there are a couple places selling leadtek 6800 ultra's.

The north american sector is the biggest market stores here have to make sure they have enough of them before release otherwise there will be a frenzy.

There's already a frenzy here. Newegg has both x800 and 6800's but they are both way overpriced. All their x800's are at least $50 over retail, and the 6800 is $600. I'm so glad I'm building at the end of July, 'cause these prices are serious buls**t.

true but the 6800 ultra is supposed be $599. The frenzy would be even worse if they were out in limited quantities.

I thought NVisia was pricing competitively with ATI. Now admittedly, prices RIGHT NOW are not following MSRP, but the MSRP for the x800 xt is $500. Because, regardless of any loyalty, most people will tell you that the 6800 and the x800 are pretty close. Maximum PC just reviewed them and they tied on IQ and Speed. So most people, given the choice between a $600 6800 and a $500 x800 XT, would probably go with the x800 XT, having heard its pretty much comprable, and save $100. And please don't mention PS 3.0, most computer nuts I know don't even know or care about it, I imagine it won't be a deciding factor in 95% of purchases.

So you're trying to tell us that the 60.72 drivers that were used by everyone at the launch, <A HREF="http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040414/geforce_6800-22.html" target="_new">including LARS</A> , WEREN'T provided by nV? These were fakes, and everyone lied? Or are you once again 'mistaken'?

Seriously, so far at least 5 set of drivers (not including the recent 61.40), and very little sign of any cards. It's funny when the drivers are more plentiful than the cards themselves.

Everyone, Wait for the 60.666 drivers, they're so magical is sinful!

This forum used to be seriously nVidia BIASED. In fact, you could say that the entire forum is guilty of two biases, those who are biased towards the fastest cards, and those who are biased towards the best value. Remember, most of these guys are living in the FX days, 6800 series isn't available to most of them (due to finances, short supply, whatever).
