Question 6800 vs 6800xt

is the 6800xt worth the 15% FPS over the 6800 if I can just overclock the 6800 to be close to the 6800xt I looked at benchmarks everything goes to 60 FPS at 1440p and if not I can just put on FSR3 fg IDK just seems like its not worth the 60 bucks over it that and the power draw of the two IDK what do you guys/gals think?

I think that depends on what the pricing is in your region and whether you're talking new or used. New in the US the 7800 XT costs less than the 6800 XT and performs slightly higher and is close to the 6800 in TDP. It also depends on the rest of your system configuration, games you play and expected performance at the resolution you play.

The 6800 XT has 20% more cores so like for like it will always be a fair bit faster than the 6800 so again depends on how much of a price increase that $60 is.

I would not be considering a RDNA 2 card now at this point in time for 2024. Like what thestrker says in that post, RDNA 3 card can be had now with discounted prices. Shop around & find a bargain.
