I found this adapter that plugs instead of the CD reader which have SATA ports on it, so I decided to buy it and plug an SSD to it since my laptop runs off an HDD and its really annoying how unresponsive it is just wondered will it have standard W/R speeds? or will it be throttled, if it does throttle is it better to plug my already owned HDD to the CD reader adapted and plug the new SSD to the main SATA port on my laptop? I really have no idea of how it would work and whether it would effect the performance of the SSD or not.

You'd better install SSD in place of the HDD, and put the HDD in the DVD bay. I don't think there is (noticeable) performance difference between the SATA ports.
