Question Alienware Area 51 ALX Upgrades

I recently got a Alienware Area 51 ALX from my Aunt. We had attempted to upgrade some components in it, but it refused to boot with the new components. I wanted to know if anyone else experienced this issue. Everything connects and fits, and I have read that this has been done before. I really like the case, would anyone here have any suggestions? Thanks.

What kind of new components? CPU/GPU?
And can you please list the alienware old specs?

It's all stock minus the video card.
Intel Core i7 940
12 gigs of RAM
stock water cooler
"Alienware approved Intel X58 motherboard"

I was looking to replace it with a ASUS ROG Ranger VIII
Intel Core i7 7700k, and 32 gigs of ram
SSD
new corsair watercooler.

Whenever I attempted to boot with the new parts, it gave me the 00 error and did not boot unless I used a seperate Power supply. With the old setup plugged in it booted just fine

Well, they recommend using a new fresh install of windows, because it could make a lot of problems.
Plus, what kind of power supply that computer has? wattage and brand?
I would say its either that you need a fresh install of windows, or your power supply is not enough.

It's all stock, so it has the one it came with, it's a propriety 750 watt one. It's uses a non standard design.
