Amazing Rendered Buildings by Bizzare

The buildings that Bizarre creations is making with the XBox360 for Project Gotham 3 are just mind blowingly realistic. So much so that Bizarre had to prove to the media that they were creations and not photos/photochopped.

Now this is a step towards that Hollywood-style cinematic 3D I was talking about. Now whether it's real time or not is the big question. But we're getting closer. 😎

I hate M$ with a passion (more than EA, more than the RIAA/MPAA) and yet I'm tempted because of stuff like this.

I played the original Gotham with the original Xbox first weekend, and it was pretty fun (but only as a break from HALO

).

I'll wait for more gameplay views and reviews, but they look impressive so far, almost enough to make me want one.

Despressing really to think of supporting the evil empire. Why couldn't this be Ninetendo Screenies, with all their DonkeyKonga goodness? :lol:

Wow indeed this is pretty impresive!
They do state its in-game on 360's hardware!

Oh and finnally doesnt look that much aliased for a console game!

Within 5 years we will have photo-realistic gaming experience on a daily basis. I personnaly don't play sprts games a lot... But I can't wait to see Medal Of Honor with that photo-realistic looks. This will be amazing or Medieval themed RBG game with a look like that will be mind blowing.

I don't really like the cars, I hope there is a bigger selection then just of what were in the screenshots.

They say in-game.
My question is the following, I just saw that developpers just receive their actual(or official) Xbox360 dev kit. Before they had G5(how ironic heh)boxes to work on. Do you guys think there is a power difference between the two. Even if the graphics are obviously dependent of the GPU, we all saw that anandtech article citing poor CPU performance.
I dont think it will make much a difference but im still wondering because it looks too good to be true!

Oh the question actually is: Will it really look like this???

Dunno man. Even with today's awesome GFX, when you look at buildings, they always seem to miss that depth edge. Those in that pic not only have it, but they even go a step further and make the colors more lifelike.

Game colors are always brighter and more pale than real life colors, which are more shaded and darker.

This can be observed in photo printing with Canon and HP using opposite philosophies on what is better to look at.

Who knows.
The R500 has so many features not related to current implementations fo software that this may not even be possible on the G70/R520. It's almost certain that what is currently planned as the R600 (could wind up as the R720 ir something by the time it's released) would be able to handle it, but it just dpends on what aspects of the VPU are being exploited. Is this massively vertex heavy where the R500 would excel greatly, or is it rather simplistic just optimized?

Heck you might be able to do it on an FX5700 if it's efficient enough and doesn't do something exotic. I doubt anyone not reltated to Bizzare knows for sure right now.

Depends on how sucky your real life is.

If you look closely enough at the stills on Bizarre's site it's not completely realistic yet either. Motion is always the biggest issue in trying to reproduce reality (oxymoron?), anywhoo, look at this image and tell me if you have the same issues I do with it being 'completely realistic';

Is that harsh criticism, damn right, I'm being completely unreasonable, but we are talking about 'are we there yet?' and I'm just saying, no but we're damn close. OF course perhaps some of the issues are related to this being stills, where motion video compensates and a few trick being used to display things like motion blur ruin the 'effect'.

That why the buildings may be in game, etc. but truely how good is the ACTION sequences which will be more demanding and likely less detailed IMO.

Can't wait to see video though either way.
