hey there
i found a great software for phenom users and thought to share in this club, maybe some one find it useful for them self :D

i was trying to get max performance and max power saving on my 1090t and using bios i can only do this with C&Q which was lowering my cpu to 800mhz @1.2v and for performance i was depending on turbo which only ups voltage by +0.075v over base voltage during turbo and turbo was limited to 3 cores only

after many search i found this software phenomMsr Tweaker ( http://phenommsrtweake.sourceforge.net/ )
and it is great
i can set individual voltage for each states, i can set number of cores to turbo and i can set clock speed for each state

now i am running
p4 state at 800mhz @0.9v,
p3 @1.6Ghz @ 1.0v,
p2 @2.4GHz @1.1v ,
p1 @3.6 @ 1.35v ,
p0 ( turbo state ) @4GHz on 4 cores @1.5v
and cool and quite is also ON

now i got power saving and performance when needed

just be caution because if you use bios overclock and this software together then the clocks and voltage will be different form what you will see in this software ( use hwinfo sensor to see real voltages and clocks )

I seem to have a stable FX 6300 at 4.4Ghz on a M5A97 EVO R2.0. VCore max at 1.275. Max Load temp 53C after 2 hours Prime95 using Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo.

Didn't seem possible on such a low Vcore.?!?!

Bleh.. these scores only tell me im doing something wrong.. barely reach 3k score on 3dmark 11.5 combined score, yet the listed a10 6800k, unclocked, hits 4k.. and mynes clocked to 4.7ghz :c

CPU-Z Validation - http://valid.canardpc.com/qxbetv

got a thread listing some ITB runs here

3dmark 11 test here - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/9984561

------------------------

I went through Bios and un-did the cpu clocking, as well as undid the CCC clocking, just to see the base numbers without any clock, and still couldnt come close to some of the listings i seen,, for the same CPU and GPU on 3dmark 11 lookup. Found Here - http://www.3dmark.com/fs/3440287

The only difference between myne and his, is the motherboard. Hes running a MSI A88X-G41 PC Mate (MS-7793) while im running on a ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. A88X-PRO, his Ram is also faster however, @889 while myne is @800. but his is unclocked, let me run a 3dmark test again just for a comparison.

On the side a bit - Is the difference between MoBo that great?, or is it the Ram.. His is Kingston DDR3 @ 889 MHz, im using.. i dont even know ~checks~ A-Data Technology DDR3 @ 800 MHz

~Edit~ heres an unclocked 3dmark run - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/9987553

Why is my Turbo Clock significatly lower? my CPU temps never go over 65c (according to asus suite 3) even under Standard/High ITB runs

Well, after 5 years running my old 1090T at 4Ghz, it's seems a little degrade now..

i don't know, maybe board or processor , or both is getting weaker..but it's seems not stable anymore at 4Ghz @1.45v.
I need slightly bump it to 1.475 v to reach same stability.

Not bad for 5 years old chip..
Almost as fast as stock 8350 in blender rendering..(note: i'm using amd cards to..so no blender cycle)

Do you think my CPU-NB is normal? Shouldn't it be higher?

Msi a88x-g41 mobo
AMD a8-7600 apu
Corsair vengeance pro 2133mhz (2x4gb)

Also CPU ID shows my ram's max bandwith pc3-10700, it should be 17000

you are seeing his/her firestrike score and comparing this to your 3dmark11 score, its like comparing on'es fps in gta5 and in mario
also, this thread isn't meant for asking questions, its to show off your overclocks and if you follow posting rules of this thread ( described in 1st page ) then you can get onto list

create separate thread with prper details to ask your question because this thread isn't meant for asking questions, its to show off your overclocks and if you follow posting rules of this thread ( described in 1st page ) then you can get onto list

My apologies, i was simply responding to Saints question towards me :c Ill twiddle mah thumbs till somone wanders over the thread i do have up however, rather than clog this up anymore. Sorry for the disturbance.. carry on as you were :c (And yes, i realize now that his was a firestrike test, though clicking on the A10 6800k hyperlink on 3dmark site, still shows a score of 3700, compared to my 2700. ~shrug~)

Maybe VRM is getting to hot, after 5 yeas thermal compund under heatsinks can
loses some properties.

Re-check your settings and maybe it's time to apply new thermal paste or update BIOS version. Mine still running after 6 years...

As you already said, both are running different 3DMark version, that is the reason for those point differences. What is your score running the same benchmark?

lets see, my very first run of the same 3DMark was.. this link - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7542817

Ran every test once. stock clock/default settings. Also ran the API test - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7542966

Now, youll note that my "max turbo clock" is almost half that of the stock clock in those tests, i was tinkering with my power options, and noticed that setting ai suite to high performance, actually set the OS settings to "balanced", changing os power option to high performance yielded this - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7545407 , which put the turbo clock almost where it should have been (apu states 4.1 stock, 4.5 turbo)

mmm...i've always replace the processor paste at least every 6 months..
For motherboard vrm, it's rather hard to find thermal pad here..should replace it too?

Unfortunately, the newest biostar ta990fxe bios is rather unstable for overclocking.
This is the second board for my 1090T. After my old 890 mobo dead in 2011, i've replace it with biostar ta990fxe.

Well, however this is "just" cheap biostar..maybe some weak components here and there..
Actually i even amaze about how could this board can survive.
with only 4+1 vrm give more than 200 watt for 4ghz thuban for 4+ years.

Since I haven't seen any of these in the thread here is my quick attempt at OCing a $20 FX find from a HP h8-1234. So far cant break the 4.6 GHz barrier and be stable but with time I believe I will be able to get it. :)

What is your temp while running P95?

you could push your voltage a little higher since your temps are decent
also for future reference for OCing you would be better off with less memory sticks
2 x 8 would be better for OCing
good job so far

Yea I know about the memory issues with 2 or more sticks, but thanks for the info anyways. The reason I have the 4 x 4 sticks is when they were purchased they were $70 bucks for a set of 2 so I needed to get them at two different times. I had my Phenom II 965 C3 @ 4.073 GHz @ 1.392v for 24-7 with 2 x 4 but once I added the second set of ram I had to drop the frequency to 3.952 GHz to maintain stability. I had read many threads saying that 4 sticks can cause instability versus 1-2 sticks so I was prepared for it.

At the moment I am looking for the highest clock for my 24-7 use. But it had dawned on me, once I read your post, that I could pull 3 sticks and push further and see what the max extreme OC would be on this machine, on air cooling with the 212 evo. But I need to shoot for my 24-7 first.

i figured it was something like that with the ram
you have a good plan

I am new to OC, trying to learn it now. FX 6300, ASRock 890gx extreme4 r2 16gb ram, custom built case with 7 fans to cool the cpu, NB SB, ect... any hints would be helpful. It appears that I am currently getting 4.6mhz, I got it up to 4.9 before it got buggy

Remember to do a full stress test suite before moving on or considering your OC stable.

Stress test suite consists of the following programs: Memtest86+ = Run for minimum of 2 full passes. : tests memory and Memory controller.
Prime 95 = 2 hours minimum run time on blend test. 12 hours is best. : Tests CPU stability but may catch errors that IBT may miss.
Intel Burn Test = run for 20 runs and on maximum stress. : this to tests the CPU for stability but may catch errors that Prime may miss

OCCT= use the GPU test program with error checking enabled if you have an Intel CPU with an iGPU or you overclocked your dedicated GPU.
