Okay lets see I am going to post my latest STABLE overclock




this is silly but I am going to prove it by posting a screenshot of Prime 95 64bit running for 1 hr and 15 minutes





While it would be nice to work on the honor system on this thread the fact is that the original post specified that OCs needed to be backed up with screenshots


so I have a 1100T running at 4.1ghz stable and I am going to try for 4.2
I think it is doable

also I need to run Cinebench 11.5 and check my score
the last time I hit 7.30 on CB 11.5 and I am hoping to beat that
if I do I will post a screenshot

That guy is a schmuck anyways verbalizer...He just trolls and gives bad advice....BTW king good OC...My 965 BE is still going strong at 4.3 GHz stable...Yes it has been proven with screenies...I am number 2 on the stable list...My insane clock was 4.5 GHz

4.3 is awesome for a 965be
I had a 965be and the best I could do was 4ghz stable
I am back to 4.0 on my 1100T since when I tried for 4.2 I messed up and forgot my settings for 4.1 LOL
thats okay I know I can figure it out again when I need to
I am happy with 4ghz for now
I have the machine folding for 12hrs a day so stability is a major factor

Anyone have any notable FX-8150 OC's on air? I'm interested in seeing timings and voltage, I was just gifted one myself and having trouble getting past 4.5GHz.

I overclocked my Athlon II X2 250 and now my PC wont boot the next time I shut it down and start it up again. I increased the FSB to 240 and the multiplier to 15x, and everything else is default. I feel something is limiting me from overclocking this processor, because when I restart it boots, but when I shut it down and start it up again I get no display...so I have to hit my reset button just to see an "overclocking failed" message. And when that moment comes, I have to load BIOS defaults just for my pc to boot again. Help me guys, I desperately need to overclock this to 3.6GHz. Thanks.

(When I overclocked to 3.6, no problems showed up on Orthos, Prime 95 and MemTest)

Fx 8150 Throttles
Hey guys, just a quick question. My Fx 8150 is throttling down to 1.4ghz whenever the CPU temp (Not Core Temps) reaches 77 celcius under prime95 blend test. I have got my APM and the others disabled. Any idea how to fix this? By the way, I'm pretty confuse about the AMD's temperature guide all over the net. Some forumers said it's the core temp that has to be below 61'c and whereby some said it's the CPU temp that has to be below 61'c. My head has got up a pretty bad dmg.

Here are some infos:
AMD Fx8150 (4.4ghz under 1.3875v)---(Core Temp at 58 max)
Crosshair V Formula
G.Skill 8GB 1600mhz
Corsair Tx650
Club3D Hd 7970 Royalking.

I just use a Hyper 212 Evo in a pretty air restricted case, I have 1 120mm intake and 1 120mm exhaust. You temps seem off, something is up with your water loop or you need to reapply your thermal paste. 1.3875v would give me temps in the mid 40s and I'm on air....

okay that is 75F (American you know LOL)
that is a little warm but not enough to cause major temp increase
in my 74F my 1100T 4ghz at 1.53v doesnt go over 60c
that is with a Antec Kuhler 620 watercooling in push pull
you have a much better watercooling system

are you sure your pump is working?

Yeah, I need to check every up tomorrow and re-apply thermal paste and stuffs. Btw, I'm using distilled water instead of coolants. Do you think that's causing the prob?

I was just messing with my FX-8150. Those temps are definately high, although 4.4GHz is a good OC for 1.3875v, I have to run 1.4125v for that clock. Anyway, your temps are way high for that caliber of cooling system, something is wrong. Maybe the block is not seated properly, the pump is not working properly, or the thermal paste is too heavy/light/uneven.


Also, off of this topic, I was tinkering with my FX because I read that the performance was better for gaming if you enable a setting in the BIOS called "One compute unit per core". This makes it a true quad core with 4 threads. Well I saw no improvement other than being able to get to 5.0GHz on a lower voltage and staying cooler. All my gaming benchmarks were about the same as with 4C/8T. And I looked up my old 980BE Cinebench score and with my 980BE @ 4.2GHz and my FX-8150 with 4 cores @ 4.9GHz, the bulldozer still lost. So yeah, I'll chalk that one up as a fail.

no distilled water is fine
water does well at thermal transfer
check seating of cooling block and make sure your pump is working

i've found with my PHII chip, when i hit the voltage of ~1.67V my chip will throttle, that may be similar to your issue

Alright bad news guys. Nothing much changes after re-applied the thermal paste. CPU temp( Not Core temp) reaches 68'c after 6mins of p95 blend test. It seems to be the chip that's super consuming the heat.

if there is any way to check the temperature of water of water ( water from the block which is placed over cpu )
then you can check if it is cooling problem or is this cpu is creating too much heat

Even when my cpu is in idle mode under 4.3ghz now, it's temperature 39'c
