i don't read anything from the above 3 mentioned. they have their built in bias which contaminates even good information they may accidentally stumble over.

well wiki is different i guess. it is entirely what someone personally posted so its subject to interpretation and who they choose to copy and paste as a resource.

The porblem isnt with the 'editorials' in wikipedia....those are nothing more than opinions. It with the facts....which often as not are merely incorrect opinions masqurading as facts.....utter bollocks. Pick an area in which you are an expert, go in to wiki and look at the 'facts' in that section and see how many are wrong. I like to play a game...a mistake a minute. Its actually not much of a challenge.

My join date looks to be about right. I've only been actively posting here for about a year.

Serously, im sure your swinging to the dark side...

The Darkside has all the powers of the good and more...

and little need to upgrade often. This would be another blow to PC game developers and hardware manufacturers.I rarely buy new PC games anymore because of excessive DRM.

Well, with HDD manufacturers predicting capacities upto 10TB in the next 3 years, MS will certainly have all the space it could want for windows 8

SSDs Replacing HDDs Soon? Not A Chance : Poor capacities

Humour aside, Im a fan of licencing the OS IF it means MS will focus on improving the product rather than rushing a (incomplete/flawed) new one out every few years to keep the revenue stream flowing. Personally, I wish linux was (I can beleive Im going to say this) as flexible as windows with respect to hardware/software compatability and ease of HW/SW installation, but thats still a little way off. Still, MSs apparent lethargic shift towards open source, and their fiddling with linux/unix indicates they see a shift in the market, or might be scared of a potential shift.

Yea seems like the same 4GHz stock Phenom FX Deneb processor speculation. I have a hard time believing it since IBM has yet to fully finalize their 32nm with HK/MG, or they say thats the node they will use it on.

But we shall see.

Hence why I buy my games only on Steam. EA has removed their DRM from the ones they put on Steam. So its the best way to get games.

But I doubt it would be a yearly license. Maybe for another project they have going. We will find out though.

But wasnt there rumours of a linux kernal implemented in Vista some while ago...

The kernal with out a doubt of linux is far more stable than windows kernel...

Its faster with out adoubt but its getting software what you want to run on it that stinks...

Turpit, i feel that M$ will be working towards a OS 10 or even 11 when it gets to windows 8 or 9 even.

Ive made predictions on here before and its only a matter of time before we get the standard.....

I'm either buying pre 2004 era games or getting ones on Good Old Games.
I avoid excessive DRM.Perhaps PAYG is Microsloth's new model and plan for the next version of Windows.

Props were props are due. Im no fan of M$, but they do tend to improve the stablity of the kernel with successive service packs. But there are fundemental differences between MS and the open source OSs, with their root in money.

Im a fan (one of the very few) of symentec security products....the older less user friendly ones....because how "deep" they would dig. In XPSP1 with Office 2003, symentec identified over 170 internet enabled exes. 170!! Each and every one a potential security hole, and each and every one untold lines of complicating code and potential conflicts. And each and every one designed to make MS more money....either by making the OS more "user friendy", or by making the experience "rich" (I hate when compnaies use the word "rich" in their product descriptions, like the HW or SW is a chunck of chocolate cake) And the vast majority of them pointless for the average user. But MS goes for the most users it can attract using a single package.

I doubt MS will 'see the light' and reduce the complexity of their OSs anytime soon, certainly not any components they feel 'make money', and those rumours of integrating linux into windows would seem to hold true to that, if MS feels that linux is becoming a crediblke threat to their marketshare. If you cant beat them, join them....or rather absorb them and make them your own.

Hmm..ok. I did overlook the ultra durable 3 ( I guess thats just solid caps/better cooling). I would have prefered a pipe going to the SB on that board, or maybe a smaller NB block with a 40mm fan.

Pretty good power numbers actually. It'd be much more pronounced if both Agena and Deneb numbers were side by side. Also, my guess is that these numbers are on the very high side of what to expect.

Another thing that I will be waiting to see, are Temp numbers. These are cool little chips, and come summer time, it might be a considerable advantage to AMD and may be a deciding factor on which chip users will choose. I'll be watching to see if the forums fill up with i7 heat related issues.

Agree. Ive been living with a very hot Q6600 for over a year. In the summer time it gets like 80f+ in this room, it idles at like 45c.

Its nice to see that AMD has solved another problem or cleared another hurdle rhats been a burr in their side tho. I agree, who really cares? Its just a point to make, when selling these chips (plus fangirl will like this), so some people do care I guess.
The temps will either be here tonight or by lare tomorrow, as well as the ocee perf
