We have had several requests for a sticky on AMD's yet to be released Piledriver architecture ... so here it is.

I want to make a few things clear though.

Post a question relevant to the topic, or information about the topic, or it will be deleted.

Post any negative personal comments about another user ... and they will be deleted.

Post flame baiting comments about the blue, red and green team and they will be deleted.

Enjoy ...

do you mean piledriver or bulldozer? because you put bulldozer would be better than sandy bridge.

In a best case situation? Of course. 90% of the time though, BD isn't looking at its best case. Hence my skepticism of AMD's 25% improvement, as I suspect thats with all cores fully loaded. Figure 90% scaling across cores, and only half the cores getting used, and you get my 10% estimation.

Humans are rather easy to brainwash. All you have to do is repeat something over and over, and your mind starts to believe it. Advertisers love it and abuse it.

ya, lets all forget about the past and pretend it didn't happen ...

here is something similar to that line of thinking.

Not even comparable. Thats a different thing all together. What Intel did is not even nearly 1% on the same scale.

My point is bringing it up changes nothing for you or anyone else since both AMD and Intel have moved forward to look into better innovation instead of stupid bickering.

Honestly if Apple did that, I would probably buy one of their products but Apple stays in the past and sues everyone.

But you bringing it up is not going to change a thing. AMD is where they are right now, nothing will change it. Not your whining that Intel did this or that and not you whining that the games, popular ones most people play, are unfair.

Instead we should all focus on the news we get and try to discuss it instead of listening to marketing or bickering over the past.

Or you can stay in the past, I don't care either way. I just think its a waste of time.

If you thnk intel can change, well anything is possible. They have been twisting the facts and bending the law for 15 years. I don't see it changing, nothing is pointing towards intel turning over a new leaf other than wanting people to forget about the past so they can do it again as it was something new that they haven't already done.

If you believe intel can change, good. Don't try to convince me its ok by spouting facts that have nothing at all to do with what intel did. Pointing at the sky and asking me "what is that" doesn't work.

Arguing with him is a waste of time. He's lost all love and enthusiasm for technology and replaced it with his hatred of Intel.

Intel releases a new CPU: "Intel is evil, I will disregard all that makes me an enthusiast and buy AMD"
Medfield smartphone is launched: "Intel is evil, I will disregard all else buy an iPhone"
Nissan announces Atom in Inifitis: "Intel is evil, I will disregard all else and buy a Ford"

He's reached the point where he ignores performance and features due to blinding hatred and is therefore not an enthusiast. He has the exact same mindset as Apple fans that will ignore all else to buy an Apple product, except he will ignore all else to NOT buy an Intel product.

So if I got this right, people aren't allowed to have their own opinion and only allowed to believe the bias media?

Ya don't listen to anyone with an opinion or who actually owns a prioduct that you think is inferior, proves he must be stupid because your opinion is otherwise more right.

Answer me one question, why should everyone be forced to buy Intel?

Edit : this time since you attacked me, you refers directly to you.

not if your lactose intolerant... 😛

Right, but how long does it take people to realize it's the milk. Because all you ever hear is milk is good for you, so it can't be the milk.

And then think about it hard some time. It's rather disgusting to be drinking the milk of another animal. People don't even like to witness mothers breastfeeding infants, which it totally natural, but in public it's shunned.

There are way to many things that society has shunned that should be perfectly natural. That's just the way it is. It mainly seems to focus around either sex or my demographic's stereotype.

But that's okay, right? Teenagers are immature, moronic, unreasonable people who don't care at all for their future (that would be sarcasm). I do my best to make my demographic's stereotype not seem true, but it looks like i'm the only one

Sorry, that was off topic :??:

I can't say that for sure honestly, he may be that way he may not be that way. But he sure does not like benchmarks using games that Intel is better at.

Either way, I bought my Fusion over a Nissan because it has a better rating in most everything and it just looks sexier. The only thing better would be the upcoming Shelby 1000 Mustang.

No one should. People should decide for themselves. But wasting time with past issues, as I said AMD and Intel have gotten over it, the compiler is a very small minority in usage and overall anything of that nature is pointless.

I do think Intel has stopped. Overall they have a better product, and even when they wont have a better performning product they will still have superior FAB capabilities at their disposal to produce more products so that when AMD or company X cannot fill requests, Intel can.

As I said, Intel is not forcing anything on AMD nor are they forcing anything on software devs. Every software dev has the ability to read, correct? So don't you think that before jumping into a certain compiler they would read the EULA as well as the benefits and downsides? If not, blame the software dev, not the compiler maker. There is responsability on every front and even on AMD, Intel, software devs etc.

If you want benchmarks for certain products that no place covers, then by all means do them yourself and post them and ask someone with XX CPU and similar other specs to do the same.

You should always care about the past, for those who forget are doomed to repeat it.

I understand that. Such as WWII. I know what needs to be remembered, But talking over and over about the past of Intel and AMD does not help innovation, nor does AMD/Intel fighting it out. Instead now AMD has that extra lawyer money to push into R&D, which is better.

I doubt AMD employees sit around the office moaping about what Intel did. Instead they look at whats wrong and how to fix it or what could be done better (such as BD->PD).

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go and try out Shoot Many Robots. Gotta get my Gordon freeman skin on and kill Portal bots.....

Lol Best news all day if i'm a fan of anything its ford and the fusion was the right choice over a Nissan any day at least to me. Also the new Shelby going to be packing some serious horse power! 650 HP! That's a lot of power! I have 3 hobby's, Computers/Sound systems(Pioneer+Polk) and car's.
