[citation][nom]reynod[/nom]Pretty impressive card.I hope that one of the manufacturers comes out with a factory overclocked version of the 2Gb 5870 ... it looks like it has enough headroom.[/citation]

Actually, what I think makes the most sense is a dual-GPU version. You're already looking at needing two GPUs in order to truly take advantage of 2GB per, after all...

Well cal me old fashioned, but this isn't my cup of tea.Though I don't knock anyone who wants to do this.I am happy enough with my single,'How Quaint,27 inch monitor.Yes folks you heard it right, one monitor.Just imagine the power draw for 6 and how it will heat up your room?No Thanks.
Plus the cost of running them all?I prefer the higher resolution than just plain bigger, plus I don't have any thing obstructing my FOV.

Whilst they don't mention whether it's just the card or the whole rig the graphs are still quite pretty.

i still don't get the appeal of playing on multiple monitors, the bezel frames are a turn off. now a 4k projector would be nice, never heard of one that accepts a signal over multiple display ports though.

I would never use this, I much rather (if I had that kind of money)
buy a 100" display for gaming and movies. 1 large screen, no lines in between all to distract from what I'm doing.

.......................

With that said, I can see use for this setups for corporations, airports, banks etc... they can use for advertise their products, also for in-house training programs.... but not for games.

I'd love to see some qualitative, if not quantitative benchmarks on how a single or dual eyefinity 6 edition card runs on things like Google Maps or Google Earth. Yes I know it has to get data from the internet, perhaps when you maximize the applications it won't run at all, but that's what I'm wondering. I work in the GIS field and would love to see this kind of thing for mapping applications.

[citation][nom]PhantomTrooper[/nom]I would hate playing with that much black area between screens. I will stick with my 1080p monitor thank you.[/citation]

On my workstation I have more than just a black line try a whole space using vintage crt screens.

climber, cards for 6 display have been out for workstations for gods age. we run 6 displays on one matrox card for our marine traffic control center, which is displaying realtime maps with radar and AIS info across a 3x2 1280X1024 display for a total of 3840x2048. display performance is more than satisfactory.

I'm still stuck with my 1.7ghz Pentium rig, 384mb ram and a 7600gs agp.
I won't be able to upgrade for another few months of saving my weekend job earnings. (Gotta love being a teenager in Michigan...NOT)

I'm sorry this does not appeal to me , even if it was free. This does not have any coolness factor. Between the cables, the bezels, and the horror of getting it working (read any eyefinity HELP threads). Oh and it uses a EXTRA 40 watts, /sarcasm.

Hi, Can anyone tell me if Eyefinity works with different monitors of different resolutions. I have always had Nvidia but now thinking of getting an ATI card but I have a 19" and 22" monitor with different resolutions and with NVIEW i could configure every monitor with its own resolution and it worked flawless. Not sure if eyefinity also allows that or if I can only span 2+ monitors with the same resolution. Anyone knows?

Thanks

It is better to use a large display like 30" or more than use 3 or 6 displays. I can imagine the black gaps to be distracting.

Also, how does the cost of the 6x2 compare to say, a $599 40 inch or $899 48 inch? And how much extra power consumption? Do the lower frame rates impact the experience more than the higher resolution?
