Wow looks like the 6770 will outperform the 5870.
Looking forward to some 6870 specs.

By the time it comes out though nVidia will have an answer.

No wait-- they have to do 7 months of leaks before releasing a product don't they.
So I guess they won't have an answer by the time this comes out.

That was the point I was about to make...looks like a slight performance increase at best which is normal for the next series of GPUs compared to the previous. Secondly...things look good on paper sometimes but real world performance is what it comes down to. I saw alot of figures on on the 5000 series cards that were higher in terms of performance so we will see what kind of gains when the test models are out.

[citation][nom]hixbot[/nom]Vladislaus I said nothing about twice faster. Merely faster, a 6770 than the 5870.The 5770 is faster than the 4870. The 4770 was faster than the 3870. So why is it wrong to expect a 6770 to be faster than the 5870?Before the market got so stale, generations leaped forward by much more than 20%.scrumworks, 20% somehow equals twice the horsepower? my expectations aren't the issue. The chart title claims twice the horsepower.[/citation]
You're comparing technical specifications. It's only purpose is to give an idea how the card will perform. When the card is launched and benchmarked then can we really see what they're capable of.

move that hell stamp onto the spec of the older board, who place a stamp on the information we need to read. This is going to be a power hungry card, where are all those people jumping on nvidia 480 power consumption. What amd gets a free past now?

Have to look at the number.... 67xx will replace the 57xx series... Wonder what the 68xxx looks like. I'm hoping i still have some time with my 5850.. or if anything the 68xx will drive prices down and I'll crossfire.

Well, they do have almost twice the computer performance and texture fill rate and more than twice the pixel fill rate and zstencil.

[citation][nom]reprotected[/nom]ATI: We present to you! HD4870X2! I mean HD6770![/citation]
Actually the core in the HD4xxx is totally different from the one in the HD5xxx.

it looks like its getting twice the performance for 1.5 times the power hope the heat doesnt match, the 6770 could be an absolute beast of a card if amd price it the same as the 768mb 460. that would be amazing. its funny though amd's card have so much more computing power, accept there drivers are horrid, nvidia cards barely have half the power but they can compete. if amd could make perfect drivers we could enter a whole new world of graphical performance,

it will be interesting to see the kind of scaling that these things get in crossfire

[citation][nom]trialsking[/nom]Competition rulz! Lower the prices on the 5870 so I can Xfire already[/citation]

By launching some cool new wood screw products

From what I have read about the 6770 its 10~20% faster than GF100. Its said to be the fastest GPU AMD is going to make on the 40nm process. The efficiency of the 6XXX's are said to almost double the performance of the 5XXX's. The reason the 6770 come before the 68XX's is the nm process they will use.
Radeon HD 6700 Series: Posee 2 “módulos SP”, fabricada a 40nm, tendrá entre 1280 a 1536 SP, su rendimiento será entre 10% a 20% superior a GF100, tendrá un tamaño de die de entre 400 a 440mm2, se lanzará durante el 3º cuarto del 2010.

The 68XX's are to be produced on 28nm's and come out about 1st quarter of 2011.
Radeon HD 6800 Series: Posee 4 “módulos SP”, fabricada a 28nm, tendrá entre 2560 a 3072 SP, bus de memoria de 512 bits, se lanzará durante el 1º cuarto del 2011.

Twice what exactly? Twice the stream processors (from the 5750 and 5770) does not mean twice the performance. That's just foolish.

I would like to see the price-tag of those cards, the numbers don't match IMO. The 460 Cyclone 1Gb can be purchased for around 220.00S shipped before MIR. The 5850 hawk can also be purchased for more or less the same amount.. This tells us that the 6750 and 6770 cannot be priced much higher than the current 5850 and 5870 unless AMD has some sort of surprise up their sleeve. I want better tessellation and improved CF scalability compared to the current 5750 and 5770.. But most of all, i would like to see some sort of improvement when it comes to frame-drop =(

Wanted to say thanks to all who took the time pointing out what I missed. As useless as the excuse is, I hadn't had my coffee this morning when I posted that. It is blatantly obvious now that I look at it again, after what you all pointed out. Again, thanks.

Right, gonna get this 6750 for my old and trusty 2.5 years old HD 3200 onboard (Man, I even can play Crysis Warhead in 1024 x768 custom setting with high resolution and low effect with this)
Man,I wonder how long I've been wait for this "complete and finished" DX11 card this whole time??

[citation][nom]rpmrush[/nom]Hell the 6750 is a beast. If the price is right, it will be exciting. Unfortunately prices tend to reflect performance, which would put the 6750 around $300 to start and put the higher performance cards (6850/6870) in the sky.[/citation]

Not quite. The 6700 series is a smaller chip than 5800s, it costs less to make and uses less power. They are a bit below the 5800 series - But cheaper. AMD wants to keep their lead - and if the 6750 is $150 & 6770 at $180~200... these cards will murder the GeForce 450~460s which are doing well... against the 5770~5830.

I'm a 4670 user... the 6700 will be my next purchase.

[citation][nom]Yose3[/nom]Im Gonna Wait For Nvidia Response which is Kepler And Maxwell!im holding off on the GTX460 for now...[/citation]

don't wait forever bro... as much as I wish I would have waited for this and that I really wished I would have waited for the Nvidia 460
but what would I have been gaming on all along
hell if these new ATI cards drive down the 460 I'll still buy one

Doesn't really seem like much of a surprise when the 6770 has 320 SPs while the 5770 has 160...unless I'm missing something.

6770 also has 24 more TUs, double the ROPS, and higher clock, etc...
