[citation][nom]OvrClkr[/nom]yea well lets see how that goes, as far as we know the lower end models will be capped when it comes to OC'ing and I doubt they will be cheaper than a current i7 920/930.[/citation]
Dollar for Dollar you can get AMD's top teir desktop processor (hex core WITH AN UNLOCKED MULTIPLIERZOMG!) for $6 more than a i7-930 priced at $289. A Black Edition 965 (Quad core) is $165. That's the cost difference of a water cooling loop. I dunno about you but a watercooled Phenom is a lot more attractive to me knowing that 4.2Ghz is a 24/7 stable overclock compaired to an i7's "it better be the dead of winter" attitude when it comes to long term OC on the stock heatsink, which if we're talking dollar for dollar because you'd run out of money on the i7 and be stuck with the stock cooling.
I have nothing against intel's offerings save for 2 things, they'll change the socket design again in a year, and the cheapest good processors will still be over $250usd
