AMD vs. Nvidia graphics for 3D editing, video editing, etc.

This isn't about AMD vs Nvidia in general use. But for the use of 3D editing, CAD, video editing, photoshop etc. I am wondering if I will see a gain in either. As an example, lets compare the 7850 to the 560 Ti. I know the 560 has CUDA and some other stuff that will be helpful for my uses, but will AMD cards work just as nice?

I plan to game too, so the quadro's or fire pros won't suffice.

I do know that the 7850 will beat the 560 Ti in gaming. Wasn't really what I wanted to know. But thanks just the same!

photoshop(except CS6) and iRay(an gpu renderer) does support only CUDA, so in this scenario AMD is useless

Go for Nvidia. Radeon doesn't have cuda, so nvidia is a way better deal for you.

nVidia 5xx series are great CUDA cards......some are officially supported, some ya need to "unlock"

The GTX 6xx series, at least what we have seen so far w/ the GK104 is not designed for GPGPU computing, nVidia has saved that for the GK110 series aka "big kepler" which we haven't seen yet.

@Sunius, yeah the cards are better. But I prefer AMD and thought I could get similar performance with the AMD card.

How well does a faster AMD/ATI Card fair against slower nVidia CUDA Card in the same price range?

I have more or less asked the same question that no one has answered.
