Hi just wondering you guys can shed some light on what is happening
with this board.

Antec Case with 350W PS

this is a fresh install of Windows 2000 pro


generic pc2700 ram 2x 256
Toshiba SD1202 dvd/cdrw
ati 9200
xp2500 retail
maxtor 80 hard drive



the problem I am encountering is that when I try to load W2K I get
errors saying that files (ie DLL) could not copied over to the hard
drive.... please try again or check cdrom drive.

what I've done...
swapped out cpu to xp 1600
changed dim slots and used one stick instead of two
used different cdrom drive
used different windows 2000 pro cd
tried installing XP
tried installing linux

nothing seems to work...
seems to me it might be the motherboard that is giving me the error

what do you think?

What happens when you tried installing XP (from bootable CD, I assume)

Is this a new mobo?

Have you checked the HD for errors? - you can get the Maxtor "powermax"
diags from their site and run it on a bootable floppy.

You might find a solution in the "Setup.txt" file on your installation
disk.

yes new MB well I bought it a couple months ago and was sent off to
work away from home.. now had the chance to set it up
same problems with XP bootable CD too

there are no errors on the hdd and i've tried more than one hdd
