Hi i got a 1200 case and i want to convert the antec 120mm case fans from molex to 3 pin. before i do the switch i just want someone to confirm it will work.
here is how i see it
Every computer fan these days has 3 wires coming out of it. 2 for power and 1 for sensing. then there is mods and *** after that for speed controls and random ***. i am planning on just cutting off the molex and the antec speed controller and wiring it to a 3 pin. can anyone confirm this will work for me?

because the adapters dont include the sensing wire which i would like to have for my fan controller

And that's your problem. The Antec case fans weren't designed to be used that way.

My question is, "Do you really need a fan controller, or do you just want one?

I have three Antec 900 cases (same type of fans). I discovered that the air flow on LOW is good enough that my temps do not change when I increase the fan speed to MEDIUM or HIGH.

I think you have two alternatives:
1. Get a fan controller that you manually vary the speed, or
2. Get a fan controller that plugs into the motherboard for automatic temperature sensing and speed control.

Hey I had a question about the antec 1200. On the back of my HD cages there is only one additional fan to go behind one of the three cages. I was wondering if they either they sold extras or if anyone has moded one or heard of that mod???
