Antec P160W Case Front Panel Audio Issue

When you plug a headset into the front panel audio jack the sound thru the headset works great however...when you unplug the headset from the front panel audio jack the Right Side channel on the PC speakers is LOST! The ASUS P5N32 SLI SE Deluxe has the Realtek97 Audio which I use. It's as if when you disconnect the headset from the front panel audio jack..the Realtek97 audio jack (Line0ut) still thinks the headset is connected to the front panel and for some reason "kills" the Right channel from the Realtek97 audio jack (LineOut)....thus NO SOUND from the Right PC speaker. Question: What are possible causes of this problem an recommended solutions?

Im guessing that you've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps such as testing speakers on the front/rear/side speaker outlets, etc. Did you get good channel seperation on the speakers when you did that?

Try disabling the Jack Sensing Function for the Line-In/Line-Out/Mic ports.
See section 5.3.3 of the motherboard manual.
Also try setting the speakers up manually in the Speaker Configuration section.

The next troubleshooting step that comes to mind is to disconnect the front panel audio connector on the motherboard and test to see if the right speaker works. If that clears up the problem its a possible wiring problem in the front panel audio connector.
