Hi,
I am looking for a good anti-glare 21.5 or 23 in 1080p desktop monitor.
Most sites like newegg don't have anti-glare as a filter criteria. Any suggestions? I don't play games and my budget is $100-$200.

Hanns_G HL227DBB seems attractively priced. Not sure of the quality.

Not sure if all IPS monitors are anti-glare by default but

Dell's UltraSharp™ U2212HM is another option

It is a slightly above my budget range.

Thanks

This link is about someone who didn't like the grainy-ness of the Dell's UltraSharp™ U2212HM for text.

My main concern about the Dell is it's brightness: 250 cd/m2 vs say the Dell UltraSharpTM U2312HM 23" which is 300 cd/m2. I've read that 250 is kind of low, but the display so far has gotten good reviews at Dell. Regarding the 250 cd/m2, I've read that the e-IPS which I believe Dell is using for these 2 models requires less backlighting to achieve the same luminance than some other IPS technologies, so 250 might be fine. I didn't see on Dell specs what type of IPS it was using, but in a video on their site it said "e-IPS" or "E-IPS" and there is a difference between the two technologies, so I'm not sure if Dell's is an E or e! lol. Here is a link that probably gives you more than you want to know about monitor panel technologies. 😀

If you look for deals you might find the Dell UltraSharpTM U2312HM 23" in your price range. Here's one for $229 with free shipping. And according to the link below the 23" is indeed eIPS:

Good luck!
