[citation][nom]Antilycus[/nom]I have extensively used both and developed for both and supported both. For those of you who are PC happy, most of you probably havent used an APPLE ever, or in a long time. At home, I hardly EVER use my Windows machine. I have no need for it. I've had my mac for 5-7 years and guess how many times its locked up on me or needed a reboot because something was working right...3 times.... I keep it on 24/7, run multiple applications on it AND ITS ON the old as G4 processor (thanks apple for updating that 2 montsh after i purchased mine it). SO if you are on here bitchin about the APPLE ads or how great Linux or MS is, you are are simple jaded and uninformed. The reason you probably hate APPLE is because they are different (and might freakin expensive). I can tell ya, I would never purchase another mac again, as APPLE modo is to make your expensive purchase OUTDATED within a few months after purchasing it.[/citation]
I'm confused, so you are for or against Apple?
Additionally, nobody here is complaining about Apple's usefulness or how well written their OS is. We all agree that it's a solidly built machine with some well thought out code behind the OS. The issue is that no matter how solid the construction and code writing is, it's not worth the $1000 premium you pay over a PC. I dont care if my PC needs to reboot every few days, I dont care if it freezes up every once in a while. What I do care about is if I want to upgrade the RAM I don't have to pay $200 for 1 GB.
It has never been about quality, it has always been about price. As an analogy imagine for a moment you buy a Ford Fusion fully pimped out for 30k or you can buy a pimped out BMW 3 Series for 36k, that difference, while arguable, is only a 20% markup for a perceivable quality difference. Mac's however carry often times nearly a 100% markup over their PC counter parts... and for what, a different OS?
