Hello, this is my first post :)
Just a quick question.

Are the following components compatible? Without any tinkering or manual bios updates. Out of the box so to say.

CPU: Intel i3 10100 or intel i5 10400
MB: Gigabyte H410M S2H V3
RAM: Kingston DDR4 16GB 3200 Mhz KF432C16BBK2/16
SSD: Kingston M.2 500GB SNVS/500G

I thinks it's all good to go but wanted to check with the experts :) thank you.

Can't see it on the website. Only information is this:
BIOS:- 1 x 256 Mbit flash - Licenced AMI UEFI BIOS - PnP 1.0a, DMI 2.7, WfM 2.0, SM BIOS 2.7, ACPI 5.0

On the gigabyte mb page here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/H410M-S2H-V3-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios there are newer versions of BIOS. Can I download the newest one F6 or F4 and update it with that and be set? Or do I have to install them in order? Sorry for stupid questions.

If it's not the required BIOS, what will happen? It should be ok I think cause i3 10100 released in time of h410 chipset and h510 came later, I don't know.

That board will gimp your RAM speed to 2666MHz. Pair up the 10400 with a B560 board and 3200MHz RAM.

I'm aware of that, but 10400 also doesn't support ram over 2666Mhz anyway, so I've read, so no need to upgrade because of that.
Also the cheapest B560 is double the price, hardly worth it in my opinion.

Yes, technically your CPU supports up to 2666mhz, but often the IMC can handle faster speeds. 10th Gen work rather well, with faster ram. @Why_Me was suggesting this route to eek out a little more performance. B560 mobo's allow mem OC'ing (XMP) You'll notice in the review they test the chip with both 2666mhz and 3200mhz ram. It yields a 4-5% increase in FPS at 1080p. In some games the performance increase is even more.

I don't intend to overclock it and I don't play video games.

I'm just interested to know if these components are compatible with each other. Mainly if the chipset on this motherboard supports i3 10100 and it's integrated graphics.

Thank you.

Yeah, you have a point there alright.

Ah, sure. In that case, yes, they are compatible and will work fine. The mobo needs to have F1 bios, so might check the order to ensure it's the right one if you haven't ordered it yet. Where are you buying it from? Can you link it? We might be able to tell which bios revision it has.

Looking there it says 'First Launch Release', which to me says it comes ready with F1 out of the box, and ready to take the 10th Gen. In terms of the other bios updates, given there are only 4, I would do them incrementally. For some manufacturers, you don't need to do that unless it's specified. But, for the sake of making sure, just do them one by one. Remember to do a CMOS reset/clear after each update.
