Arrow on desktop icon

I have just installed Windows XP Professional. Whenever I install new software programs, the desktop icons contain the down arrow which I prefer removed. With older versions of Windows, Tweakui would remove the arrows on the desktop icons.

Would anyone know if there is a way to remove the down arrows on the desktop icons for the software shortcuts in Windows XP or if a version of tweakui is available and works with Windows XP?
