[assassin] hitting a wall

Hi folks!

Some weeks ago I started building a martial arts assassin. She
doesn't use any traps, so that skill tree page is kept empty, and
she's on lvl66 now with nm difficulty finished.

The big question is how to get exp while avoiding iron maiden spamming
Oblivion Knights. I travelled A4 River of Flame and every place in A5
except for the Worldstone Keep several times again and again, but
yesterday I couldn't stand it anymore and went into action. Mind
Blast and Cloak of Shadows helped a lot to sneak around and finally to
go down to the throne, but I hate it to leave behind monsters alive
just for the precious exp they provide.

What would you use as backup attack when OK's are on sight? Some
special bow, or let merc/SM do the job?

Max'ed so far are Claw Mastery and Phoenix Strike. Shadow Master is
at about lvl17, and I'm wondering if I should spent more points into
that skill, as I'm thinking about spending some or more points into
Ice/Thunder/Fire for PS synergies she might need later on in the game.

Mind Blast is in the teens, just enough to get the reasonable
percentage to convert monsters from time to time (crowd control).
Burst of Speed (which she uses quite often) and Fade (no need up to
now) got 1 point.

Main attacks are Double Claws (for AR and enh dmg) and Phoenix Strike.
Last one gives me the opportunity to select a special elemental attack
when facing immunes.

I don't like it that much to stay in the back and let my minions clean
up the mess... :-(

Equip is
Weapons: Bartucs and some rare claws which provide +2 to all and a
nice AR boost (based on char lvl)
Helm: Peasant's Crown (socketed)
Boots: Waterwalk
Belt: String of Ears (dmg red 14%)
Armor: Goldskin (though it gives +35 allres I'm looking for s.th. new)
Rings: Ravenfrost and some rare double leecher
Amu: rare, +2 to shadow disciplines
Misc: 1 shadowskiller, 1 MA skiller

For MA the equip gives +10 skillpoints, so Phoenix Strike alone does a
nice amount of damage, and +7 on Shadow Disciplines meaning to me that
there's no reason to spend any further points to Weapon Block or the
two "auras".

Got some Firelizard's Talons (thx again to Stefan) and Jade Talons in
my stash, but already had a look on the Nat's set... unable to make a
descent decision ATM. 🙂

Hell A1 wasn't a real challenge up to now (WP Field of Stones), except
for some li enchanted boss monsters and the still low lires (45), but
this will be changed ASAP via charms. But she has a lot of respect
concerning all those archers that wait in Darkwood and Tamo Highlands.

Any suggestions appreciated,

my assaassin is level 85 and uses MA she is different to most in that she
has 1 point in traps to get death centry so i walk up kill the first monster
drop a DC and then watch the bodys pop and in have that 1 pojnt in the trap
means when you need to stand back you use convertion and DS works for me

So you think the 5 points it's worth it. I already thought about that
option, especially when I'm finished with some packs and see all those
nice corpses around me on the floor. 😀

look for a claw with DSentry on it, and use it on the switch.
better than spending points, if you can find one with BF also, or on the
same one would be bonus too, 'pecially if you got some way to add
cold damage, it will freeze/chill them
sometimes you need it

Right, that's the better option.
