Anyone have an Asus a7v266-e and play Half-Life (in particular counter-strike)?? I have an a7v and I get system beeps from my mainboard when I press shift+a+w .... just wanted to know if anyone else had that problem and what they did to resolve it. I'm running win2k pro. Thanks in advanced for any help.

Does anybody have any JuMpEr CaBleS?

I doubt it's a motherboard issue... sounds more like the OS. Does anything happen besides the beeping? Any warnings about temperature or fans? The only thing I can see is that the system may be on the verge of overheating and it starts beeping as a result.

I noticed the same problem while playing UT. I came to the conclusion that it was the asusprobe prog. beeping due to heat. I added an exhaust fan and that solved everything (though asusprobe sometimes reports that my cpu fan is not running (which is untrue))

never rely on analprobe. its crap.
motherboard monitor is far better, and not prone to dropouts or missreadings.

Despite appearances im not Phsysic. I may need your system specifications to solve your problem!
