Sorry, entered wrong email on other post. After days of unsuccessfully installing my GPU, I narrowed down the problem to the default graphics output settings in BIOS. Every time I switch it from auto to PCIE, then save and exit, the settings go back to default and my PC is unable to recognize my GPU in Device Manager. The settings do save, however, when I choose CPU Graphics as the primary display. PEG won’t save and reverts back to auto as well. The fans begin to run on startup so I don’t think this is a power issue for the graphics card. I also inserted my old GTC 750 and the machine didn’t recognize that one as well. This is the first PC I have built myself and I really want to figure this out and move past this frustration instead of having to buy another motherboard. I have made sure the mobo and CPU drivers are up to date, as well as making sure the GPU is properly seated and in the right port, and still no luck.

MOBO: ASUS TUF B365M-PLUS
GPU: GeForce GTX 970
CPU: i5-8400 2.8 GHz
RAM: Gskill 16 GB
PSU: EVGA 650
