I am having issues updating my BIOS on the asus crosshair vii extreme. I have been trying to do it via EZFlash and have been having no luck. Every time I try to flash the BIOS it freezes and locks up and then I have to press the restart button. I have downloaded and renamed the BIOS as per the instructions. This has been the most frustrating thing about this board. I have been trying to fix my RAM issues with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming that the board is Crosshair VI and not VII, try this:
Download the BIOS file from https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...XTREME/ROG-CROSSHAIR-VI-EXTREME-ASUS-7501.zip
Unzip and rename the .CAP file to C6E.CAP. Take care to not rename the file to .CAP.CAP, if extension hidden in explorer
FAT 32 format the USB drive
Save C6E.CAP to the FAT32 formatted USB drive.
Connect the drive to the designated Flashback port on the motherboard (check the board's manual to correctly identify it).
Do not start the board, just press the Flashback button for 3 seconds, Wait until process finished.
