Question Asus K555L where is the intake?

I have an Asus K555L laptop and I want to clean the fan as I've been having heat issues lately but I can't find the intake this is how it looks like;

3 is listed in the manual as "the air vent" Which makes me unsure of what it is.

Also, I would love it if you would walk me through the process of safely cleaning my fan.

You can't get to the fan unless you take the cover off. Air vent is what you are calling the intake. At times there may be some air spaces built into the case, often by the keyboard along the edge of the laptop by the screen.
