Hello,
I recently built my own first pc and when I boot it up, I get some messages like Boot Block Version 0.063. Bad BIOS Checksum. So I inserted the CD for recovery.... it erases and re-programs the BIOS. Then I rebooted the whole thing and the same problem comes up. I tried removing and putting back the CMOS battery and changing processors, still it did not work. Can someone please help me? Thanks!

Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

[strike]Q - What MOBO?[/strike]
Q - What CPU?

[strike]I'm guessing you have an ASUS (based on recovery method).[/strike] IF STABLE IN THE BIOS - I would try updating the BIOS to the latest version using ASUS EZ Flash 2 Utility from the BIOS; see - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/289507-30-what-flash

ASUS M2N68-AM PLUS - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2Plus/M2N68AM_PLUS/#download

Most folks don't Clear CMOS properly, unplug the PSU from the wall for 5~10 minutes, then move the Jumper for at least 5 seconds and place back to the Default position. Nice video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdHH9KrceR0

If both above fail then RMA the MOBO.
