My USB mouse freezes for short periods of time, and will eventually freeze completely until i change USB ports, then this happens again until the mouse stops working in every single port and i have to reboot my system. This happens sometimes over the space of a few hours and sometimes within a few minutes.

System:

Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 Motherboard
Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500K CPU
Cooler Master 750 Watt GX 750 80Plus PSU
Sapphire HD6870 Graphics Card
8GB 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance RAM

Things i have already tried:

Different Mouse
Different USB Ports
Updating Drivers
Rolling back Drivers
System Restore
Clean Install of Windows
Updating Motherboard BIOS
Updating Chip-set
Delete Driver cache in DriverStore

This problem is absolutely infuriating as the mouse disconnects at the most inconvenient of times.

Id really appreciate any help on the matter!

I have the same EXACT problem. I RMA'd my motherboard and during that process I bought a Z77 Asus board and it actually still happens. I was thinking it's the mouse, but I really have no idea. I basically have the same setup as you as well. It basically only happens to me when I'm playing games. Not sure if it's a coincidence. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is or a solution?
