The lights work, the fans work, just installed my i5-6700k Kaby lake CPU.
But the bios is not showing up, it's not booting and the USB ports aren't working. This is my first time installing a motherboard so I may have done something wrong but I can't figure out what. The manual makes a little sense to me but I still don't quite understand it.
Here is the pics of what I have put together http://m.imgur.com/a/O8koD

Yes fans spin up, have checked everything many times, I've tried pretty much all you mention except one RAM in each slot (they are Kingston RAM, so that is a concern, shouldn't be an issue at all)
However on the strength of the BIOS point, I have arranged for the board to be returned and have bought another from a vendor who assures me that the stock thay have are 0604 BIOS boards. I have wasted enough time on this issue - they shouldn't have sold me outdated stock anyway.
Thanks for the reply

I'm have the same problem, but my ASUS B250M-K only have a 4 pin ATX12V socket and my Corsair RM650X did not come with that plug.

Hi Helpstar,
OK so I have cancelled the return - on the strength of your advice and also from two others, the 0505 BIOS will run the i7-7700k chip.
I now think I may have the incorrect RAM: Kingston HyperX fury 32MB DDR4 - 2133CL14 (4x8GB). Looking on a few sites, this clock speed is not listed. I don't know much about it but clock speeds between 2400Mhz and 3000Mhz are listed, my RAM might be too slow.
Do you have any thoughts on this?
I don't want to go out buying more RAM only to find that the above is fine.
Very grateful for your advice.
Phil

slow RAM wouldn´t be a problem, but the native speed would be 2400MHz for kabylake CPUs without overclocking. Your Board is supporting up to 3200MHz while overclocked. Here are lists of the supported RAMs:

Helpful, thank you, whilst less than ideal, my RAM is compatible, so it's something else.
FYI here's my build.

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv case
Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair - H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Asus - PRIME Z270-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
EVGA SuperNova P2 850 W Platinum Fully Modular Power Supply Unit
Seagate BarraCuda 4 TB 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive (64 MB Cache SATA 6 GB/s up to 180 MB/s)
Samsung 850 PRO 1 TB 2.5 inch SATA III Solid State Drive - Black

I guess I need to get testing now

Well I got it working! Very happy. Whilst my 4TB seagate hard drive is a non-starter and for some reason my ethernet doesn't work (weird), I at least have a running system. I don't know what caused the issues, I tried the board out of the case with RAM in slots 2 and 4 and it worked, then I fitted into the case and added the other RAM and it still worked. Must have been a loose connection or something.
Thanks for all your pointers Helpstar :)

I'm guessing since the original poster of this article never responded past "I ordered a new board from amazon." i'm guessing the board was the problem as i have the same issue: LIghts and fans on, tried on 2 different PSU's red flash on the PC LED and constant orange on the RAM LED(right side of the board). I've found a few articles all saying that in this board(just about 1 in 5) have ram slot issues. Asus spent the time re-enforcing the Graphics card slots but couldn't re-enforce the ram slots. oh well. i have a new board on the way myself

Guys.. my Asus Prime Z270-A was not starting. Fans on.. leds on, all green, CPU fan on max. But black screen. I was afraid my mobo is dead.
Well I found out that I did put cpu fan to the second cpu fan header by mistake. There are two of them next to each other for cpu. Use the top one! Now my pc works like a charm.

I have the same problem. Asus Prime Z270 K + i7 7700 non K + 2x8 GB Kingston HyperX 3000 MHz RAM. It did not start so I did some tests according to the recommendations above:
With two modules in slot 2 and 4 the LED turns on the MB, the CPU vent works but there is no Bios. With module A in slot 2 the Bios starts and detects the CPU and the RAM . With only module B in slot 2 the Bios doesn't start. And I have to clear the CMOS to be able to start the Bios again with module A in. Is it positively a RAM problem or can it be a motherboard issue?
Thanks for your help.

update the BIOS in BIOS itself with ezflash and an USB flash drive with one module and try again with two.

Could be RAM module, DIMM slot, CPU socket pins of the motherboard bent or even the CPU itself. You will have to check yourself.

You can run memtest.org USB autoinstaller and boot from it to check both RAM modules (one at a time)

Today I'm experiencing the same problem. Here is my configuration:

Intel Core i5 7600K 4x 3.80GHz So.1151 WOF
Asus Prime Z270-A Intel Z270 So.1151 Dual Channel DDR ATX Retail
16GB (2x 8192MB) Crucial Ballistix Sport LT grau DDR4-2400 DIMM CL16-16-16 Dual Kit
500 Watt Corsair CX Series CX500M Modular 80+ Bronze

After connecting everything together, turning on power supply and pushing power button the PU Fan runs 0.5 seconds and turns off. All other fans are also working 0.5 seconds and they stop rotating too.

I do not get any signal on my screen.

Aura LED lights are working fine and Power LED is also green whole time.

When fans turn off and when I try to start them again, nothing happens. I have to switch off the power supply and the when I press Power Button they start 0.5 seconds and they turn off.

Then story reapeats in loop.

I tried to connect only one RAM piece in A2 slot and connecting only power cables but unfortunately the same thing happens. Can someone help me?

NOTE: My BIOS version is 1009, is that too old for i5 7600K?

Yes, ATX 12V, CPU fan (which rotates shortly when I click power button) and 24 pin power are connected. Standoffs are also installed.

I'm using Be Quite Dark Rock Pro 3 cooler.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. When I click on Power btn, fans are rotating for a 0.5 second, and then they stop. RGB mobo lights are working but no POST no monitor signal, nothing. Did you solve your problem?

sorry if I repeat some things earlier suggested, wasn´t reading the whole thread again.

maybe you shorted the board by using the anti static foil under the board. Don´t use any packaging to try the board while under power. It can damage your hardware. Directly place it on the desk, it will be much less risky there to test the system.
Also please connect a monitor to the motherboard.

reset the BIOS by jumper (CLRTC while power is unplugged from the wall, push power button while off and reset by jumper)

install just one RAM in different slots

losen the cpu cooler screws a bit

I just tried everything you wrote and it didn't help.
