ATI Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 vs DDR5

I am going to upgrade an older computer with a newer graphics card for some games.

My choices are ATI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR3 for 80$

or ATI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5 for 100$

The most graphics intensive game I might be trying is Skyrim at 1080p resolution.

Is it worth the extra money to go with DDR5 over the cheaper DDR3 card? Noticeable FPS difference?

I would say if you feel it is not running ok on DDR3 ...... I don't think you will OK on DDR5... I would day may get 3-5 fps more..

The DDR3 will be faster in some games, yet Skyrim is more of a CPU intensive and doesn't rely on graphics all too much. Not all games are CPU intensive. There are alot of graphics intensive games out there and more often than not a game is going to rely more on graphics than CPU, so I would go with the GDDR5.

What kind of games are you going to play?

If you're really really tight on moneys, then the DDR3 will suffice. It will not make too much of a difference, but it will be noticeable.
