Audio In Jack (Front and Back) Not Detecting Headset Mic

Hello, I hope this is in the right forum, if not, I'd appreciate if you'd let me know where I should be posting this.

I just recently got a HyperX Cloud headset, as a replacement to my Logitech G930 (which is a USB mic/headset). I plugged it in to my desktop (Dell XPS 420) and, while the sound worked great, the computer couldn't detect the microphone. I made sure everything was plugged in correctly, and tried both the front and back audio in jack, and still no detection. I haven't had to use my audio in jack for a long time, so I used some contact cleaner to clean out the jack, but still nothing.

I took the headset and tried it on my laptop, and it worked fine, so I'm assuming it's something wrong with my desktop. I thought it was just a bad jack, but then it's not working for either the front or the back, so I'm not sure. My speakers are working, my G930 USB headset works, and the audio out works.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to try and remedy this? I'm not too sure about how to troubleshoot this further. I'm hoping I'm not out of options since I really like the headset.

I am on Windows 10, if that makes any difference. If you need any more info, I'll be glad to provide it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd be surprised if both your front and back audio jacks were screwed up. Right click on the speaker in the bottom right corner of your taskbar and go to "Recording Devices." See if it is showing up there and if the computer is receiving input. If there are any other recording devices displayed, try disabling them. Right click on it and choose it as the default device. See if any of that helps.

Edit: Greg made a good point, too. If your computer has separate headset/mic inputs and your headset has only one plug, you'd have to buy a splitter to have it detect both inputs.

I don't have any other recording devices plugged in. When I go to "recording devices", there is nothing listed, even when I have my headset plugged in. I also have "show disconnected devices" and "show disabled devices" enabled, and still nothing. When I plug my old USB headset in, it shows up right away, though. Just nothing for my new stereo headset.

Also in reply the other answer, there are two plugs on the headset, one for audio out and one for audio in (the mic), which I have double checked to plug in correctly. What HD audio software should I be installing?

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false choose 64-32 BIT and What OS you use.

Sorry, the link you had wasn't working for me, so I thought it was audio drivers, so I just went through and updated them. The link you gave me just keeps redirecting me to the same page when I try and continue through to select the download.

No, nothing under the recording tab.

you wanna unplug your headset ,open HD Audio Manager,on the right top sight click Device advanced settings,Recording Device, make sure first is checkt(Tie up same type oj input .....)and click ok.then on same side yellow folder, you wanna click that and check (Enable auto popup...)click ok.then when you plug your headset did you see pop up screen.hope this helps

Sorry for the long times between responses I was gone for most of the day. I downloaded the proper file from your link and it ran, but I think it was only the drivers? I don't have an HD Audio Manager Application- do I need to have it already preinstalled on the PC? I can't find anything like it on my computer.
