Ever since I reformatted about 4 months ago, I've had a problem with audio stutter whenever I hold down a key on the keyboard. During this time, I've used both the integrated audio on my Chaintech Zenith 7NJS motherboard and a SoundBlaster Live Value card. Both have this problem, so I suspect it's something to do with IRQ's or something, but I don't know how to fix it.

Any ideas?

Specs: Athlon XP 3000+
Win XP Pro SP2 (audio stutter started before SP2)
Creative SBLive Value

A few Q's:
Does it happen on all programs? ie WMP, Winamp, Realplayer, etc.
Does it happen on with all formats of audio? ie wma, mp3, ogg, etc.
Does it happen when any key is held down?
Do you have both sound cards in the machine at the same time with both enabled? only one should be enabled at a time.
Do you have the latest nForce2 chipset drivers when using the onboard audio?
Do you have the latest SBLive drivers when using the SB card?

Try installing the onboard audio drivers separatly from the nForce chipset driver pack. I believe that motherboard has a CMedia 8738 chip. You can get the drivers here at the cmedia website.

Yes, it happens on all programs, from Windows Media Player to the in-game music in WarCraft 3.
It happens with mp3's, wma's, cd's, and game sound.
It happens whenever I press any key at all. I haven't tested the F keys and such, but it happens with all the letter keys.
Yes, I have the latest drivers to all my devices, including NForce2 and SBLive. I disabled the onboard audio in the BIOS before installing my Creative card.
