You will get onscreen messages to that effect, but you can check by either
typing the following from Start>Run
winver
or right click on My Computer and select Properties.
Both will tell which SP you have installed.

if the download does not automatically start, click on the link to find
mirrors. One of them is a Microsoft Mirror. Going through Auto Updates is
NOT neccessary and can take up two 48hrs to even start due to bandwith
limitations and the ammount of users whom can download it at a time.
