Average computer temperature

My computer record a temperature of 45-50 celcius is it too high or is it appropriate ?? Do i need better cooling solutions ??

The answer to your question is it depends. If the temperature was a cpu core temperature for an Intel Core i7 920 during a stress test such as Prime 95, then the temperature is very good. If the temperature was measured at idle, then it is not good.

Please list your components.
What was the ambient room temperature during thermal testing?
What temperature monitoring utility did you use to measure the temperature?
What stress test utility did you use and how long did it run before the temp was measured?

1) My components are:

CPU: AMD PHENOM II X4 955 BE
Motherboard: Gigabyte
MA785GMT-UD2H
RAM: 3GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
Graphic Card:XFX ATI Readon HD 5770
HDD: Seagate 500GB

2)ambient room temperature is 32 C (at noon)

3)i use Speed Fan

Maybe you should specify the idle and load temps.

right now it's 47 C and load temp goes up till around 50-60

I forgot to mention i use a micro-ATX cabinet. I guess thats one problem

btw I live in India at...... 32 celcius it's really pleasant.that too it's winter now... In some states it goes up at around 40-45 celcius

Maybe he would hit around 70 or more. You should already stop it when you've reached the 60 deg mark.

My last CPU was a Phenom 9850 Black Edition 2.5GHz and that used to run to 47 - 50 C in the bios! That was on a stock cooler though, maybe you should upgrade your cooler.

Having said that I did run the CPU for over a year of heavy gaming and decoding and I didnt experience any problems.
