Mother Board Info: https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/B250M-HDV/index.us.asp#Memory Mother Board Manuel: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/B250M-HDV.pdf

My PC: CPU i7-7700 GTX 1080 (Installed on the PCIE 3.0 x16 slot)

Question: I plan to add a M.2 PCI Express storage since the M2 Ultra module supports up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s). Does it occupy my GTX 1080 GPU bandwidth?

I searched all over the internet and I find various info which can't be verified against the user manual: 1. M2 PCIE uses CPU PCIE not the GPU PCIE but the user manual doesn't say 2. M2 Ultra module uses PCIE 3.0 x 4 so it will occupy some of the PCIE 3.0 x 16 bandwidth dedicated to GPU; however, the user manual isn't clear on this.

TIA

Solution
The x16 slot used by the graphics card does not share any bandwidth with the M.2 socket, it connects directly to the CPU. Below is a good block diagram of the Intel B250 chipset showing how everything connects.
