I'am in doubt about my system, for now I have B450 Tomahawk Max with a Ryzen 5800X3D and RTX 3060 Ti, and RAM is Ripjaws V g-skill 3600mhz cl16 (Hynix chip single rank) 16gb (2 x 8gb).

Now I have something in my mind and wanted to buy a B550 mobo to boost a low FPS, or to buy a better ram kit 32gb two sticks from 16gb cl16 samsung b-die dual ranked memory?

What is the best way to go to squeeze max stability in gaming for my 5800X3D and 3060 Ti?

a new mobo is not going to have any effect on your fps. what about it do you think will be a difference?

the only reason to "upgrade" would be for a new feature or 2 missing on your current board that you now need.

ram iikely the better buy unless there is some specific reason for a new mobo.

With the X3D part new DRAM is unlikely to have any real impact as it doesn't need as tight timings as the regular parts. The 3060 Ti doesn't need PCIe 4.0 to work at peak performance so nothing there to be really gained.

honestly save up and piss the 3060 ti off go a 6800xt or 6950xt that is whats going to give you the FPS boost !!

3600 cl 16 is the best that can be found at a reasonable price ( 3600 cl 14 is the best of the best but no point and expensive if it can even be found now ) i use 3600 cl 16 32gb in all my AM4 systems !

Ram is not your issue if you want FPS because in Cache sensitive games the 5800x3d is the best of the best on AM4 so thats not the issue !!

Upgrade your GPU and you will be much happier !!
