Hello all,
I have a supermicro model # NO WHQL that unfortunately I think took a surge from some lightning. The machine operates fine, however; I believe it took out one of the Ethernet ports. I've been searching online and not finding answers. Is it possible to replace the ports? I don't know why, but I seem to recall from previous years seeing someone replace a Ethernet port that was built into the motherboard. (maybe I'm mistaken) Adding a card isn't going to be an option here, might have to bite the bullet and order an new motherboard but thought I would ask first if anyone has seen this done or if it's possible.
Thanks
A little more info. When the internet is plugged into the port in question I can sometimes get internet althou it is extremely slow and struggles to load pages. (typically will only load google) Ping tests work (but usually have about a 20% packet drop, rarely is it 100% success).
