I agree with many of you, cheating/botting of any kind is just dumb. Don't use grinding programs if you dont want a suspension/ban. But that being said arch only gives you BoP stuff. Sure they have stuff now that you can sell for 200g so it is a form of farming gold. As others have stated since lvl 60 BGs I have always seen people botting BG's for PvP gear/welfare epics. I have in my 4 years playing WoW ever heard of someone getting even talked to by a gm for "botting" or "afking" a BG. In my opinion what's the difference?

Also for the people saying OMG $1000 he must live in his parents basement. Not all people whom play WoW are addicts or play in their parents basements. I play casually 10-15 hours a week as a hobby, my fiancee also plays sometimes and between the two of us we make well over $180,000 a year. The best part is the people who throw out the basement comment are normally kids/college students that live at home or are calling the kettle black.....Your dorm room is essentially an extension of your "basement" comment because we all know when your semester is over and you go home on break ...you game from the basement/your bedroom.

What's stupid is that he thinks that the person who reinstated his account would remain anonymous. Not saying that there is no one at Blizzard who could do that and not get caught, but ever hear of system logs, anyone? I would have to believe that they don't just allow accounts to be re-instated without knowing who did it.

Irony that as I'm writing this comment, I have a "Cheap WoW Gold $1.8/1000G" ad beside the comments section.

Anyway, serves him right for botting. Archeology is boring as hell, so I stopped leveling it. I think Blizzard would rather lose a paying customer than try to go soft on cheaters and then lose thousands of pissed paying customers.

Blizzard should not accept his bribe. One offense leads to another one, and another one. Players who cheat will always claim innocence until they get caught. Cheating in game means good chance of cheating in real life.

It is just a game. Get a life.

Anyone who hasn't played an MMO has no idea what they're talking about. I know people who have bought used accounts for thousands of dollars. Hell, someone bought my account for $1000 years ago. This is not new, surprising, or even interesting news. And those who say "it's just a game" drive me crazy, as if it's that simple for someone who has made WoW a big chunk of, if not all of, his or her social life and main means of entertainment. Stick to thinks you have experience with and stop judging, or at least reserve it for something remotely worth talking about.

What a freaking moron. Just find another MMORPG to play, there's only about a bazillion (estimate) out there, and a lot of them are way better than WoW.

Or better yet, get a real life in the real world.

Botting is cheating no matter how people explain it. If you bot because a profession is boring, don't do the profession. Bot because leveling itself is boring and you just want to do PvP? Find a different game.

Better yet, Blizzard should wait a week for him to send in a letter of apology. After the week, they should email him to tell him his account and all of his characters have been deleted and there is no way for them to be reinstated. Should help push him in the right direction. Whether that is to live life, or to commit suicide, either way, it will help him move on. 😛

I love the people who respond with this dude needs a life or what a loser. IT IS A HOBBY, yes some people take it to the extreme but cmon people do it with everything....... I love how people are so quick to judge, If you like fishing/hunting/shooting as a hobby, building/repairing cars or lifting weights (going to the gym) for 10-20 hours a week thats deemed as an "ok" hobby but if you play WoW your a loser...Ive got news for people 12 million people play WoW its MAINSTREAM now. I played hockey in college and guess what?!? More people play WoW than hockey or lacrosse in the U.S

My favorite is people who comment about people who play WoW having no life over xbox live when playing call of duty Black Ops, then you see next to time played in CoD 36days 18hours ....since November.

[citation][nom]rubix_1011[/nom]Yes, because I'm betting that Blizzard has no system in place to track and moderate the actions of their account administrators. Also betting this has never, ever been attempted before./sarcasm.[/citation]

Exactly - LOL

[citation][nom]masterasia[/nom]Loser...he has $1000 to spare because he lives in his parents' basement.[/citation]
I've got over $10,000 to spare. It doesn't mean I live in my parents basement. On the other hand I refuse to play WOW even though I know I would like it. I also know that I would play it excessively so I stopped before it became addicting. (I was at level 40) But... I will likely devote an insane amount of time to Diablo 3 when that comes out though.

[citation][nom]MxM[/nom]Is it permanent ban? It would be really harsh to ban permanently for SINGLE offense.[/citation]

Somehow I doubt this is a first offense... assuming it's even legit at all. My account got hacked and I got a 3 hr ban because they spammed trade about wow gold. I've had friends get caught botting and get 3 days to a week a ban for a first offense.

Read some of the customer service forums. The entertainment value alone is worth your time. You'll have people get on there and claim all sorts of stuff, "I've never botted, I don't sell gold, I've never bought gold....etc." Then a blue will come on and say "actually, our logs show you did this...."

He wasnt offering Blizzard the $1000 he was offering any blizzard emploee with the power to un ban him the $$$. So if your making say $800 bucks a week then $1000 is a good chunk of cash. Dont think it worth loosing your job ove rbut hey to each his own. (no way in hell blizzard doesnt catch someone unbanning this guy after he put his account on blast saying he would pay for it lol)

He could prob just open a fresh account with is IP. The point is he looses his account that he has all the high level toons and gold on. I dont cheat BUT if i was told tomorrow " you have to start over with a new account" I would quit wow. It would be hell replaying all the toons I have leveled lol

Sounds like a new revenue stream for wow. Ban some stupid addicted sap for some reason then charge a large fee for reinstatement.

Don't use bot, use human bots to play your account 24/7 shifting sweat shop gamers in the philippines. Its harder for Blizzard to detect that.

But There really is a point that gold is useless since most of the good items can only be had in constant raiding or constant arena play.

If your talking about buying a toon from a leveling service I see your point. I wouldn't want to pay someone to level a toon on an existing account though. I have 3 85's so lets say I want 4 whats to stop some leveling service from makeing more money by giving my info to a gold farmer so he can then empty my back of its gold and hack my account lol.

I thought the same at first, but, you know what? It's not that hard to level a character again. The leveling process is much more smooth and money is made like water. 5000G, which was a lot back in BC, now can take as little as a week to gather by doing dailies and using your professions.

I just leveled a worgen druid 1-85. It was fun because I never played a druid. But I would want to do it again because all the mechanics would be the same. Sam with my warrior and DK. So I have 4 days of playtime on my new druid. Now thats with Chest, shoulder, back and weapon heirlooms lol And that took me 4 days playtime. And Im in a lvl 11 guild so I get the XP bonus there as well. And I had long periods of down time so alot of the time I was rested fully. So For me Im just guessing it would take about 6days playtime 1-85 starting with no guild or heirlooms. Times 3 and all for toons I allready had thats just 18 days of extreamly boring game play lol. I like wow I still couldent do it all over again. And that kiddies is why you dont cheat lol
