I am envious of those that have BF3, and can play it. I wish my rig was powerful enough for this.

Also, I like that DICE is making the game a lot more realistic than ever before. It's a nice direction, and one that the other major title *cough* MW3 *cough* isn't doing.

[citation][nom]apexle[/nom]So is the beta available at 12:00AM? What time zone? I'm assuming it'll be available at 12AM in PST (or at the least since on the east coast it'll already be 3AM). Is anyone able to download the open beta yet?[/citation]

I got into early beta that was release on 9/27 not until 1200pm noon. I read that the public beta will release at the same time on the 29th. So u might have to wait until tmrw.

So I'm loving the beta. There has been a lot of graphical glitches but that's expected. At first I hated the browser battle log, but now it grew on me and I like it, just different and takes some time to get use to it.

I have had artifacting when zooming in with a scope anyone else experence this (my GPU is'nt OC'd)?

If it is a blue-green flickering then yes, it does it periodically. Beta is gonna have some glitches. The one I hate the most is the sinking and falling through and getting stuck in the ground in the middle of the first map. Errrr!

[citation][nom]aznshinobi[/nom]Anything more than a 5850 is suggested from me. Coming off closed beta. You'll run a 5850 at 1680x1050 at Highest settings but no AA or Motion blur. It'll run OK but you will notice lag. Anything more than a 6870 or GTX 560 NO TI is suggested.[/citation]
So my 5770 at medium settings would run fine at 1080p?

I have played on the locked Caspain Border map servers (as of yesterday the password: Appletini worked on the EA US TEST myIS servers), its amazing, right back to the days of BF2... Big maps, vehicles all over, it looks amazing! FYI you can climb the antenna tower in the middle and snipe from it! Also gives an amazing view!! Runs perfect on my rig, i7 920, 6gigs ram, GTX285's in SLI.

[citation][nom]draphius[/nom]btw they still havent put in real recoil on people its just a visual effect, so if u have a quick trigger finger but someone else is slower but more accurate u will still get screwed. srsly how can u aim when im pumping 600 rounds a min into your chest from 15 feet away?[/citation]

Ive played for hours, hit lvl 12 so far, the recoil is very real, not only a visual effect but where the bullets hit.. If you go full auto you better be real close, if your shooting longer distance your better off switching your gun to single shot. When you get the upgrade for heavy barrel, and foregrip, this helps with recoil alot.. AK at the begining is just all over the place if you go full auto.

Password doesn't work anymore....... Damn I want to get in there bad! How did u get the code? How were the jets?

Those specs wont work with the actual release of BF3. The beta allows you to select Ultra but it isnt ultra. It forces you to HIGH settings. Ultra will be released on Oct 25th.

Jets are awesome, the choppers fly great maybe better than bfbc2, I flew the Havoc it has 14 rockets before reload! Lifts off faster than in bfbc2. Tanks feel about the same as other bf games, jeeps about the same to, the map is big back to the days of mobbin in jeeps to control points or bailin out of air vehicles. View from the antenna of the map i just gorgeous!

I like the beta but, I don't love it. A lot of bugs need to be fixed. Gameplay is a little sluggish. I am sure that it will improve as time goes on. BFBC2 impoved greatly over time. I am sure BF3 will be the same.

the clipping issues make the game nearly unplayable in beta. if i prone or kneel i fall through the map almost every time on the outside portion of this level.

i don't think any of the graphics settings do much. pretty sure there is no Ultra in the beta.

[citation][nom]dconnors[/nom]Why make that push if you're already getting over 60 fps?[/citation]

It's good for bragging😉

So there's a pretty good kick when you fire the weapons eh? BF3 is ALREADY losing the battle to COD. There's nothing more annoying or clumsy than the dramatic animation that is the battlefield "kick". It's a game, not a dramatization of real life, just a game. As far as the Frostbite 2 engine is concerned, if it weren't for the DX11 lighting I would say they took a step back in development. Doesn't look any different than Bad Company 2, very disappointing since that game sucked. I was really hoping for something different this time. Once again we have a game devoid of any color other than blue and a very dark and depressing theme much like the state of the movies these days. Maybe it's just me but I enjoy color and plenty of sunshine. Sorry EA, I'm not EMO or GOTH and I'm not a fan of David Fincher or the one color all shadows look of this game. Guess it's time to install BF2 again.

the recoil im talking about is when u are getting hit by bullets.your reticule bounces around the screen but say u were sniping and your crosshairs are right on someone and your just about to pull the trigger when a bullet hits u right before u do yet your bullet will still travel to where u were aiming prior to that bullet hitting u. what im saying is that if someone is able to put rounds on u first your aim should get bounced everywhere which it looks like its doing but thats just visual cause u can still shoot accurately if u know how to ignore the camera shake.

[citation][nom]Nurface[/nom]I would have prefer alpha and beta without the in game browser play big draw back for me. It didn't make a good impression so I'm thinking this one is let others buy before I spend cash.[/citation]

Yeah the menus are the most important part of the game, if they are at all off or take getting used to there is no point in playing the game at all /sarcasm

[citation][nom]apexle[/nom]I'm running an i5-2500K OC to 4.4Ghz, DDR 1600 8GB @ 8-8-8-24, and GTX 460 Talon Attack in SLI, think this would get 60+ fps at 1920x1200 res? I'm thinking I may not be able to max out the AA but perhaps x8 maybe?[/citation] i have almost the same setup 2 gtx 460's overclocked quite abit though and the only time i get slowdowns on ultra setting is at the beginning of the map when im looking out across the whole battlefield but in corridors and underground i go up to 195fps, for some reason vsync doesnt work in the game yet im sure i could force it outside of the game but kinda curious to see how the frostbite engine works. i have a feeling when we get to play "real" BF maps that are huge we will see slowdowns in the systems that can run this rush map fine right now. as it is i avg around 75 fps in a round on with every maxed out at 1920x1080. hmm thinking about your resolution u might have to drop textures down to high cause i max mine out ultra at 1920x1080

You have to agree that this is not entirely all that bad. There has to be a certain type(s) of gamer(s) that are not entirely desirable by the majority of the community. If these types can be attracted to CoD and pass on BF3 I think it'll be better off for it.

Yep the game is like a hybrid to BC and Bf which borrows too much from BC. Time to go play BF2.

Sounds amazing! I'm jealous..... PM me if you get and more codes please!

[citation][nom]hixbot[/nom]No mod support, no user-made maps! Greedy, greedy EA![/citation]
AT THE MOMENT, there isn't ur retarded if u think they should allow user made content straight out of the gate, they need to get users hooked with their solid maps before people start making bad quality, possibly imbalanced maps, otherwise noobs (prolly 80% of the population) would blame EA for a shit game, for the experiences they had on a user made map

Doesnt look any different thank BFBC2, are you blind...or special? Seriously...The outside is bright and normal, its blue and depressing inside the subway, but seriously, u expect it to be a disco in there?
